I cannot explain why I keep coming back to this thread

All of a sudden my Jetta seems too small :hammerhead:

Some quick pics. This is how she currently looks, for now...

Getting a major service done next week. All parts provided by ABM at killer prices. My drivers door lock actuator gave up yesterday. Deago advised that it's the same part across the board (ie E90 would work). He got me a set (both doors) at R730 for both parts. Let's just say, another bmw dealership offered it to me at R2800 for just the one side...

Quite frustrating having to lock and unlock the car manually by using the key. But hey, at least it locks right :hammerhead:

Keeping my wheels glossy is quite a pain. As seen above, it looks matte due to the last wash being last week. It really shines after a wash, but man it looks bad when slightly dirty.

Love how the space grey 'pops' when clean (pics were taken in a shaded area) . Wheels are dark and glossy again. Have a 3hr drive planned for today so they're definetly going to look matte again by the time I get back home :thumbdo:

To the guys that have blacked out their mirrors. Did you paint it or vinyl wrap it?

Did you pull out the original one out from front? :smilebounce:

Yes. It's actually quite shocking how easily the grills can get stolen. There is no need to open the bonnet and remove screws or anything. You just tug the grills hard enough and pop them out of their clips.

Instead of buying M5 grilles maybe I should've just driven around some parking lots :roflol:

Did a fair amount of driving today. The cars consumption still amuses me. First diesel things.. 'struggled' to get it over around 7.3l/100km with speeds between 140-180kmh or so. Had a few cars with us so the random pulls here and there was entertaining. Pretty sure I had the 3rd fastest car in the pack (we had 3 cars...)

Left with about a quarter tank of diesel. Needed to fuel up whilst I was that side. Saw 10ppm for the first time (I don't exactly go looking for this) and it's the first time filling the car up with this. After about 50km or so I think that the car is running smoother and feels a little nippier. Could be in my head as well but coming from a straight six, whilst this motor is pretty smooth, it isn't exactly 'N57 smooth'. However it does feel a bit better now. Shall see how it goes for the next week. Not really a fair comparison as a major service will be done this week as well..

Random pic taken today...

Also had gross black double slat grille installed on my white F10.
First try, unscrewed top bumper and push from inside grille. Gave up. :eek:mgwaiting:
Second try, pulled grille out hard. I'm so surprised how strong the grille holder on bumper is, much stronger then E90. :smilebounce:
