So when are you tinting the headlights?
Probably never :fencelook:

Looks pretty good though :fencelook:

please don't tint the lights. :thumbdo:

I definitely won't be tinting the lights. Not a fan. It does give the car a nice and aggressive look and I've seen a few with semi-dark to dark tints and it looked wild. However it comes at the cost of hiding the design of the lights. Looks much cleaner without it. I've heard loads of complaints of tears, bubbling, peeling etc of the tint/film (and these were done professionally). Just doesn't seem worth the effort.

If I do anything to the lights then it's going to be the spraying of the inners (housing). Not an easy task and I heard that sealing the lights again can be a problem and then there's the risk of stuffing the headlights completely. Not many guys have this but the few, that do have it :jack: :jack: :jack:

Think all that's left is a bigger set of wheels to finish it off.

:blueCry:

It needed wheels since the day I collected it :roflol:

They're on the cards for now. My tyres are pretty bald at the moment. Trying to source OEM m5/m6 wheels. Not a fan of aftermarket wheels but will consider something that looks good (not reps) if I can't get the OEM wheels that I'm looking for.

No need to competing your great thread. I'd rather be a follower.
We've got same 520D pre LCI. I've got 351 rims.

Update time...

Took a trip down the South Coast for the weekend where a wild @KPM_330 appeared. Luckily he was face down, in defense mode, hiding from the TLGPs as usual :fencelook:

Was pleasantly surprised with the consumption.

Arrived at my destination about 180km later with plenty range still avail

And back when I was in my hometown. Man, the car was dusty, in and out.

The protest action on the N3 resulted in a delay, on top of a delay, of my parts from ABM. Deago's colleagues initially sent @Riaad 's and my parts to Mafikeng :roflol: Big ups to @deago.parts@abmbmw for his time and effort to assist me with multiple different quotes and for great comms. Never had to follow up for anything and he always kept me in the loop. Dealerships need more people like him.

So my parts arrived late on Tuesday night and the car was serviced yesterday. Oil, oil filter, air filter and the fuel filter was changed out. I also got the drivers door lockset/actuator replaced.

Here's some pics of the process...

New part:

Pry tool used to remove the plastic cover by the door handle:

Those are two fines in the storage compartment :hammerhead: Need to put my number plates back on after receiving multiple fines, from the same officer, in my area. He's made it his life mission to lookout for me now, as he remembered fining me in the E92 for the same thing :biglol:

Wooden trim popped off then there were some torx screws to remove. Gotta be careful around the ambient lighting LED (?) strips. There will be 2 strips. 1 under the the wooden trim, which illuminates the door handles, and one by the storage compartment.

The entire panel then pops off. Can't remember if there were more screws on the side, and beneath, the door but its fairly simple. All the cabling will now be exposed (speakers, ambient lighting, power mirrors, windows etc). Remove each cable in order to get the panel off completely.

You now have access to the lockset (white arrow) that will need changing. You have access to this from the inner/centre portion of the door (red arrow).

There is a screw holding the actuator in place and a cable plugged in for the electronics. The locking pin, and key position, needs to be aligned correctly in order for the key (when using to turn the key manually) to actually work. The 'pin' inside needs to 'catch' the swing that, both, locks/unlocks the door.

After that, its just the process reversed in order to get everything closed up and neat again.

The door panels are much heavier than I expected and some crazy weight reduction can be achieved by removing all :roflol:

Now that I know how easy it is to remove this, I will probably attempt a proper sound upgrade in the near future :hammerhead:

Other than that, the car desperately needs new tyres. I thought that the rears were bad until I saw threads showing on the front tyres... In the process of sourcing OEM M5 wheels from a forum member however I may have to just bite the bullet and get tyres for now, until he is ready to sell.

:fencelook: I've been on this forum for a little while now :fencelook:

Can't believe I haven't posted this here, but your car is a beaut.

@Subloaded, hahahahahaha, what a clown.. I was in the wild, Wild Coast :roflol:

I actually should've been face down having a sleep after that weekend, I needed sleep and a detox :hammerhead: Anyways, no point in skewed TLGP.. You have more power and torque, for now :tiptoe:

Update time :joy:

My tyres were way beyond their wear limits and needed to be swapped out quite badly. I took my time with this, not knowing how bad they really were, until I drove the car in the rain, that we've had, over the past week. I took a fair bit of time, as I did not want to get tyres for the style 350 and wanted to use the opportunity to do a wheel change in one-go. The tyre profile on the 18s (style 350) were weird and I could only seem to find (given stock and availability) runflat tyres for them. The few brands that had non rft - only manufacture the front tyre and do not make the rears...

So fast forward to Saturday, I had seen a new set of wheels, at a store, on the Gum and it had caught my attention. Those of you that know about F10 fitment know the struggle of actually getting a wheel that 'works'.

Went over to test fit and all I can say is that here is the last pic of my car with style 350 wheels on :fencelook:

Took the passengers home with me. Man, they were bad :hammerhead:

I am now considering lowering the X5 to close the gap :biglol: and will paint the calipers seeing that the wheel design is quite 'opened' now. Perhaps a spacer is necessary as well. Before all of that, I need BMW centre pieces that will fit (OEM pieces are too big).

The car hasn't been washed in about 2 weeks and these pics are very deceiving. Shall upload some decent pics after a wash this week.

Shout-out to @KPM_330 for joining me at the wheel store and helping me make a decision. 10 points to Gayffindor

I am not usually a fan of aftermarket wheels but these wheels just work on the car.. Looking at them in person does a lot more justice to the presence the car has.. Them wheels are Nace! :chef:

And lastly, stopped at the mall and noticed another F10 5er, lurking around the back of the parking lot; so I took the parking spot next to it for a pic :biglol:

Nothing interesting to report on. Car had a front brake pad change done on Saturday. Not sure what aftermarket pads were put on the car, upon delivery - by the dealer, but they wore down ridiculously fast. I do have myself to blame for this though...

Will change the rear pads as well soon as soon as the front pads have bedded properly. Still has a bit of life left so will probably be my next things to do, probably in time for the next, early, oil change.

Next up, I think I'm going to go with the TCU flash (xhp).
