Nicely done Sub!

I honestly still prefer the full black, it just somehow looked perfect on your 5'er...however both looks are wicked and i think the polished outers actually give the car a fresh look.

Hope you enjoying xHP, man it has made a huge difference to my car and its my first time experiencing it so I am a believer now lol.

Hahaha but have you really matched @"Cornel"  if you insurance company doesn't know about your stickers? :fencelook: It's been colder in recent nights and mornings but nothing comparable to Jozi. It's the first time I've ever had to replace a battery, on one of my cars, so was new to me. Will read up on the "no maint batteries" aspect for my own knowledge. Thanks for bringing that up

Speaking of stickers...
Hehe, my insurance asked about modification to the engine itself.., not whats around the engine, or controls the engine....  :biglol:

I actually have more stickers that need to go on....
Hows the Stage 3 on the 8spd? I am bored of the stage 1, think its time to go to stage 3

Stage 3 is awesome. In drive it feels normal, just less "cvt" like when driven harder. Sport is much faster, but manual is where the fun is. The tranny 'bangs' into the gears and feels very sporty. The downshift rev-matching/throttle-blips still make me chuckle whenever I catch them. So weird for a diesel to do these things...

Did you notice any difference after using the Ceratec?

Nope, but probably a good thing? The reviews are all good. Personally, if minor things like additives, or oil services, made significant changes on your car then you probs got some other underlying, or upcoming, issues... Will be popping one in again when the KMs are due. Ceratec's goal is to "reduce friction and wear due to ceramic compounds that withstand extremely high chemical and thermal loads. ... The low-friction effect reduces fuel consumption in gasoline and diesel engines". I will assume that this is beneficial on a tuned car and for a couple 100 bucks one won't lose sleep over it.

Haha I delayed with posting the pics coz I was also a bit two-minded about the change. I liked the black/grey combo. Mates used to refer to the car as "the bat mobile" - but was not a massive fan of black wheels tbh... . I do like the refreshed/modern, 'pop', that the diamond cut face gives the car (when clean :hammerhead: )

as for xHP - haha eish, I can't do without it. When I drive the f30 (stock), a little harder than normal, the gearbox has a rubber-banding/cvt like feel upon changes. Something I never thought I'd say about the zf8!

I enjoyed re-reading this thread from start.
Noticed that the “bigger” lcd you sourced was not in the latest pics, did you remove it?

Seems you have been enjoying this car, despite the size. A bit of write up vs other smaller cars? I’d like to try a F10 hence this request:

Thank you :)

I did not source, or fit, the upgraded unit. Those pics were posted by vjx when I had asked for some info on how he had achieved the DIY.

How are you finding your f10? The lust for a 30/35d is always there but I just can't seem to come to terms with letting this car go. It still ticks all the boxes for me.

With regards to the size - I don't feel like it's a big car. I am sure you have noticed how the car seemingly "shrinks" around you once you get going. I find it easier to drive this as opposed to the f30.

Honestly I never paid attention to the 5 series, it just seemed bulky from a distance.

Once you get closer and actually drive it,
It doesn’t seem as big as it looks.
I think it’s the best sweet spot for BMW:
Pure luxury from the 7 series with purist traits from the 3 series.

Fantastic car, even better with a 3.0d motor

Any updates?
Not much actually! Car has been doing the daily duties (albeit less and less with remote working) and has been a charm other than that - start and go vibes. Hmm now that I think back, the only real "update" is changing the subwoofer to an Audio Gods one to match the amp and a big "spec sized" box for the boot.

Been toying around with the idea of going faster, but have been sitting on the fence for quite some time, as I cannot seem to come to terms with the amount of value that this car offers given the price-point in today's market and what that would net you.

Having that said, DM me for more details if interested

It's been a while since I last checked in, and I wanted to share an update. The F10, my trusty companion on the road, has moved on to a new owner. Saying goodbye to it brings a mix of feelings—it was a great ride, and I'll miss its presence.

The F10 was more than just a car; it was like a cozy cocoon on wheels. The comfort it provided during drives was unmatched. Whether it was the smooth rides or the reliable performance, this car always had my back.

Parting ways wasn't an easy decision, but sometimes change brings new adventures. While I'll miss the familiarity of the F10, I'm also excited about the different experiences the new car brings to the table.

So here's to the good times and the new adventures waiting ahead! I'll be starting a new showroom thread soon to share the journey with my latest ride. Stay tuned!

I really dont like the feeling of selling a car, wish i was in a position to hoard them. My problem now has been that after doing so much on the previous car to get it to where i like it, i cannot find anything remotely close to what i like. I just find too many issues lol, of course within my budget.
