I'm sorry to hear about the company closing down, but well done on already having a plan in place. Your work is incredible and wish you all the success in your new venture!

Thank you kindly Sir, Much appreciated. Will be coming to see you soon for the lights. They arrived this week.

Time for some updates.

On the 1'er I did some maintenane work and upgrades.

Rear brake pads shot, Wife really got her moneys worth out of them lol
img_7853_1277842163.jpg

Replaced radiator with a new Plexus unit, water leak now sorted.
img_7942_5488252989.jpg

img_7945_7959942226.jpg

Then the Front shocks were gonners, worked out cheaper to buy new FK coilovers than new shocks (That's what I told the wife:roflol:).

img_7849_9929574495.jpg

Being my wife, stockish height would not be tolerated, and her driving my car she is used to maneuvering lower cars. So from the start the bump stops were cut shorter.
img_7856_4788273419.jpg

All in all the install went smooth, the ride is fantastic, the rears can still go down more and the fronts have the helper springs removed and are only adjusted halfway down.

Thanks Gents.

Word of mouth about Scrufmuff is spreading which is a good thing in my current situation.

Few weeks back I received a Request from a client building a high Power Evo to refurb his tail lights.
img_6245_4257810879.jpg

Condition of lights when I received them, in a terrible state, and two different versions.
img_5450_8353670025.jpg

img_5451_3781458097.jpg

So lights were carefully cut open and disassembled.
img_6653_4464378124.jpg

Housings sanded down and taped up, ready for primer.
img_6654_336393569.jpg

Paint booth awaiting some action.
img_6287_361894033.jpg

Inner housings were primered and received a coat of canyon black (completely unnecessary as you wont even see it).

img_6323_1257748724.jpg

img_6325_2544425693.jpg

Then onto the Facia Housings, Decided to do a Metallic black on them and boy was it the right choice, absolutely love the color and metallic flake on them.
3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear coat was done.
Before clearcoat

After clearcoat
img_6333_2582427440.jpg

img_6329_616636839.jpg

All internal lenses were polished and clearcoated parts were sanded and buffed.
Then assembly started of the housings

img_6385_8673152378.jpg

img_6386_9706769939.jpg

Side indicators also received some tinting love, after being sanded down. 2 light coats of tint was done with 4 coats of clear.
img_6387_9365318384.jpg

img_6388_4594873236.jpg

Moved onto the clear lenses, they were in a terrible state, millions of surface scratches and swirls.
img_6368_3811392574.jpg

img_6370_7367695108.jpg

After spending plenty of hours on them polishing with various products. We have the final results.

Wow

Love the FK drop
How is the ride quality?

What does it cost to mod the tail lights?

The ride on the 1'er is much better than Stock, And its dropped fark low. Wife is happy.

Will be installing mine soon will then give a decent review on the Maxtrac vs FK's.

As for the taillights, it depends if its split lights which are 4 units like the E90/E92 or single units like the E82 and the EVO lights. The evo lights were R2400 for lights and indicators. Which is not bad considering the condition of them and it took me way over 100 hours to complete.

I am posting updates as I remember lol

These mods have al been done a few weeks go, just not had time to update the thread, there is a big update coming for Monica.

The stock sound in the 1'er is absolutely horrid. U can not believe how bmw allows such a system in a 300k+ vehicle.

Previously I had fitted my old kicker amp and sub to the 1'er, which helped with the rear fill quite a bit. The previous owner fitted some shitty pioneer rear speakers which will get replaced at a later stage.

I had a set of entry lever old school Pegasus Component split set in storage, which I decided will go into the 1'er. It is by no means top bench quality, but used in the right manner these sound fantastic. I am running them off the stock amp at the moment, and they sound great and go loud. Will power them off the kicker amp when I get the time to wire it up.

Stock vs the Pegasus

Quality built entry level Crossovers, I am running a set of these in my car connected to my 3 way High End Audisons.
img_8347_5704794661.jpg

As with most BMW front stage, the mounting depth is the problem, and these little 4" speakers have motherfarkin huge magnets, so unfortunately they had to be top mounted with the supplied grills, not quite the OEM way that I like, but they still look decent, and just just just clear the dash board after plenty careful measurement.

I cut holes in the top sail panels for the tweeters, and then gave the panels and mounting rings a coat of textured satin black, to blend in better.

I think that about covers the 1'er for now.
