The last few weeks has been a roller coaster of thoughts about selling Monica. Have gone looking at various other cars in the bmw range, and been offered ridiculous trade-ins. Having spent so much time and money on it, and in the condition it is in, what do you buy for the same luxuries and features.

This Morning started her up for the first time in 3 weeks after deciding I was going to start stripping it back to stock this weekend and part ways and cut my loses. After the first corner with the ass coming out and traction looking like a Raver at H20 the grin was from ear to ear. Still look back at it everytime I park it. Love the obnoxiously loud exhaust and hard low ride.

Why down grade and settle for less and pay more. SO now Monica will stay. Time to fit that baby seat.

The e92 is actually quite easy with the baby seat, the electric memory seats I programed m1 for drivers position and m2 for full forward, so it just a touch of a button. You can practicaly walk in...lol. There is plenty of space in back plus the wife says its extremely comfortable at the back with the arm rest and the cup holders for the babies bottle lol. Now She loves being chauffeured around with the baby... O and just remember to park far from other cars at the malls cos you need to open the doors quiet wide

I will need to raise the coilovers up quite a bit to accommodate the extra weight in the rear with the baby, mom and trunk full of sh*t catchers.

This weekend I decided to spent some quality time with Monica, as I have been neglecting her for quite some time. I saw the engine bay was looking in a sad state, and just wanted to give it a surface overall, but that did not turn out as planned, as to follow:

First off, some beverages was acquired for the job ahead

The Engine bay before hand

Upon inspection I saw that there was a oil leak, for quite some time, from the Oil filter housing

So then the process started of getting all the necessary parts off the car to gain better access

The power steering fluid reservoir was also leaking, I could not find the correct O-ring seal anywhere as it was long weekend, so had to purchase a new bottle complete

The offending housing was then stripped off and the surface was given a proper clean for the new seal to seat on

Every nook and cranny in the bay was then cleaned with detergent and a steam cleaner, it took a few passes to get all the grime and oil off

All the parts and covers removed was also cleaned

Everything was then assembled once dried, looking all good and new

With the Good out the way, now comes the bad...

I was extra careful with not getting water close to any plugs or sensors etc, and that's why I used the steam cleaner instead of water.

But Monday morning on the way to work a few meters from home the Engine light came on and car went into Limp mode.

The seeing as I work 2km from home I kept on with my Journey, as I pulled into the driveway the fluid warning light came and and steam was pouring out the bonnet. The usual top overflow nipple on the top radiator hose broke off due to age, was completely brittle.

So a new hose was sources and quickly fitted at work.

When I got home the Evening I scanned the car to see what Demons were lurking around, the following came up;

The MAP sensor has been giving errors and issues for quite some time, so I expected that. I removed the Intake Pressure sensor to give it a clean to find that the tip was brittle and when I pressed it with my fingers the whole piece broke off:YesNo:

After calling all over, BMW was the only supplier that had the Intake sensor in stock, so Had to bite the bullet and get one. A new MAP sensor was sourced somewhere else, both sensors will be collected today, hopefully, then I can install and take it from there.
