Funny enough, the same CD shuttle even appears to be used in the Mini, according to realOEM of course... which we all know is dodgy

Questions for the E39 M owners.

Discs - Agents only right
Pads - can you get aftermarket

Clutch - Clutch is about 6k (although the one in my car is still far from finished based on feel, a gentleman can nurse 10,000 more out of her) but what have you done regarding flywheel replacement, should I just shut up and pay BMW for a new DMF, or are there alternatives.

Discs are agents only unless you have a contact for import. They were cheap to buy in the eu, but shipping kills it.

There are loads of alternatives wrt the pads. My honest opinion though is that the oem pad > aftermarket.

It usually is not necessary to change the flywheel. According to the ppl in the know...

why dont you look into getting EBC USR disks from freerider? they will look awesome under those wheels and they are silent

should also work out cheaper than stealers

afair, EBC and powerbrake don't make discs for the M5...

If you have to replace the DMF, i will be cheaper to manufacture a complete new flywheel from aluminium and use a conventional clutch. DMF + Clutch package = R26000 from stealers.:dropjaw:

lol i ment i dont understand why they dont make for the M3 and the M5... seems like they should because the oem disks are so expensive... my only guess is that they cant make them better than the oem

Folks its not that bad actually, got a price of R2300 excl vat before 10% discount, each of course...

I was looking at around R3500 per each.....

OEM, and the pads are only 1400 before discount, so thats not bad either.

In the greater scheme of things, yea its damm expensive, but it could have been worse...

im not sure about ebc but power brake definitely make floating disks so i dont see why they cant make for these cars :thinking:

powerbrake could not offer me floating discs for m3

but they make floating BBK so i cant see what the problem is... there must be some reason :dunno:
