Great choice of colour and trim, wheel too. The interior looks a gazillion times better than the prev gen 1er. Congratulations

Why is doing a 100km taking so long?

Well seeing as its taking so long i'll give my 80km impressions, with the engine there is absolutely no turbo lag (never expected that) and the low-end torque is insane pushing 260nm uphill in 2nd (298nm in 1st). :praise:

With the exterior styling I'm loving the color and the wheels the ///M suspension is really great from a handling perspective. As to the interior I'm loving the sport seats and steering. :inlove:

The absolute best thing I look forward too every time I get in is hearing the sound of the Turbo dump every time I change gear:joy:

Thanks for the impressions. Do you view the torque figures on the iDrive screen?

And is the dump sound more audible than for example in a Golf 5 of Golf 6 GTi?

Yes there is a Torque and Power meter on the iDrive.
and the sound is more audible because of 2 things:

1) The turbos are nearly 2 times the size of a GTi turbo
2) There are 2 turbo's, therefor larger dump valves

Im sure its a single turbo.
All new Gen BMW's that are forced induction are running a twin-SCROLL single Turbo. Including the 328i, new 135i and 116i and 118i.

Flipping nice car though, was at Motorrad this morning looking at the 1 series. I want to wait for the Motorsport pack. Such a hot car. Want to test drive 1 soon..

Great car man, congrats

It is a twin turbo they are using the same method of induction as Porsche which is twin variable pressure turbos

I do very little driving over the weekend but I want to take it on the highway to open it up so i'm sure I can put it over 100km

I've gotta back UpNcOmiNg! here, the new cars all have single turbo, twin scroll snails. The last twin turbo was the N54 that was in the first 335i and 135i, that's been updated to a single turbo twin scroll unit also. Only the 1///M Coupe and 35is Z4 still uses the twin turbo units.

No matter either way, they're brilliant engines and offer great outputs for the displacement
