I have finally become a BMW owner! I should be collecting her later today. How many points do I earn for the 5 speed manual? A previous owner has upgraded the head lights to angel eyes and clear indicators - not sure if the purist in me likes that????

There are a few nicks and scratches I will get to sorting out in the future.

I am sure you will agree that it is high time a BMW moved into my garage?

The guy I bought the car from says a previous owner did the upgrade, so not sure where they came from.

I bought mine (1997) about 10 000km ago with about 164 000km on the clock. Mine is an Auto and I can only imagine what it must feel like to drive a manual...

I have the original lights and would love to have mine look like yours.

Would love to know what your fuel consumption is like and if it has been de-catted.

I love the grey interiour.

Enjoy the ride... you will wonder, why only now?

How do I check if it still has a cat? I did a lot of highway driving on the weekend, so it is not really a true reflection but it is 9.1l/100. I need to do a proper reading over a longer period of time for you.

That is good consumption!!!

To check if it still has cats.... place a bowl of milk under the car overnight and see if you have any footprints around the bowl the next morning....!! LOL

It is underneath your car in roughly the centre and does look a little different than a normal resonator exhaust.

There is a thread with pics somewhere on this forum of someone who did his on another model, but it looks very much the same than ours.

Your car should also have a little bit of a deeper growl at the tailpipe.

Another question... if you don't mind: does your car automatically lock when you start driving?

For some reason mine does not do that... I dont know where the fault is.

It either needs to be programmed to auto lock, or it has something to do with the position of the boot lock I think..

She has been to Mech 5 and there are no faults! Not bad for an old girl! They fitted the steering wheel and replaced the gear lever bush and selector knuckel.........the play in the gear lever, she is gone!

Going to have the driver seat leather touched up at Leather tek, so it should look brand new. I also plan to do an oil and filter change over the weekend.
