discussion E60 530d 6 speed manual

Hey guys, I'm new here I'm being given the opportunity to buy a bmw e60 530d with a 6 speed manual and an msport package, is this a viable thing to buy as a daily runner or should I look elsewhere? It's not in the best cosmetic shape

Mileage, Service history, maintenance etc.. Engine bay pics, any leaks..?
190k roughly , I don't know the service history. No leaks that I can see, had to change the belt on it recently though. Been driving the car as its my grandfather's old car so I know it drives well

I think the important consideration is how much you getting it for and how much do you want to spend on getting it back in shape?

Also are you able to afford maintenance on an old BMW diesel. Items like injectors come to mind which cost an arm and a leg.

30k is how much I'm getting it for, it's had the injectors done recently from my knowledge. The amount I'd probably be willing to put into the body is 20k

I wouldn't buy it if your intent is to sink tons of money, it's a limited history luxury sedan. At R30k, get it running, get the bodywork decent and just enjoy it until it inevitably becomes uneconomical. If you go down the route of trying to make this thing "perfect" you're setting yourself up to spend 10s, maybe even 100s of thousands.

Spend R20k, get the key things fixed and sorted. Run it for 3 years and you'll have a relatively decent deal on your hands.

It runs and drives perfectly the only issues are bodywork

Its pre LCI, the 2009/2010 LCI versions are more sort after.

That being said, you are getting the car at its lowest depreciated price so no downside risk to purchase price.

It has the lci taillights and the interior has the window switches lower though?

From my research lci is 07 and up
