Good day members,
Apologies for the long post.
I'm a new member here and hopefully soon to be 1st time BMW owner. I have read countless threads on here and learned soooo much already.
I'm really impressed with the community here and the way they assist each other.
Bit of background, we are in the market for a used vehicle and have settled on BMW (we have never owned any BMW before) as we have colleagues that drives the brand and we have heard only good things.
We are quite keen on either a 320d or 330d in the F30 body style to be used as a daily vehicle and longer long weekend trips away (knowing that there is a big difference between the two). I'm leaning more towards the 330d though.
We have identified one that we are interested in, it is a 2015 330d Lci Msport Auto with 154 xxx km on the clock for R365 000 being sold privately (which makes me somewhat nervous if I'm honest). Some more info on it below.
Full-service history (all with BMW except last one which was done by Ross Duncan), including ZF gearbox and diff oil service. No comments or accident history. Sport automatic gearbox; M sport brake; Harman / Kardon Surround sound; Navigation system professional; Sunroof; rear electronic sun-blind; through-loading system; electronic trailer coupling; reversing camera; PDC front & rear; high-beam assist; connected drive package; instrument panel with extended scope etc etc.
I'm a little concerned that the mileage might be a little high although from multiple threads on here it seems like as long as the services are done on time with quality parts at a recognized workshop, this mileage should still be fine?
The price seems average for the model.
I have checked the vin through @Coisman (absolute legend, thanks Francois!) and the details seems to check out, with no SAPS marks.
I'm thinking to just have the unit checked by a BMW dealership (not sure if this is something that they do) and also have them verify the service history and then obviously test driving it.
Any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated with this possible purchase or future searches.
Looking forward to reading your replies and / or advice. (I don't really trust people selling cars so just looking for some advice and re-assurance from the more experienced BMW owners on here regarding the brand, this specific model and just general learning)
Apologies if I left anything out but happy to share more detail if required.
