Yeah it just came down proper in Randburg, serious hail.

My car got the hail, for about 3 seconds while i was parking it under the umbrella tree at my sis's place...thank god. hail was about R2 coin sized...but were soft at first, harder ones came down when the car was safe luckily, this was in Ferndale, Randburg.

Nothing here in Broadacres thankfully! Car is undercover but the front is exposed... Bonnet is covered in a nice thick blanket... Just incase :grin:

I was at my inlaws place just about to leave. Get outside and I could hear what sounded like a train coming.
Called my wife to listen then felt a fine spray of rain. Then I knew it was going to rain.
Instinct told me to move the car.
Now about a few houses away the owners are never there and they have a cat port.
I took me less than a minute to get the car under and then the heavens opened up.
My god, it hailed for about 30 minutes. SOLID
Now with the sight of all the water, thats the time I needed to piss.
Just had to stick it till the hail stopped.
Glad my car is fine.
Hope all those effected are okay. That was 1 hellava hail storm

Would it be at all possible for a mass pm to go out for storm warnings like last night.
Ralf, thank you for the updates bud and I think a few of us that were caught in this storm could have been a bit more prepared.

I got my car in the garage and missed the first Hail stone by a ballhair...
My bro's e90 LCI wasn't so lucky. We got it in a minute later, but first tried throwing towels etc over the car to protect it while he ran upstairs to get his keys. I got donnered befok. See below a pic of my back whilst only being outside for a couple of seconds trying to protect his car.
