I drove right through the middle of this thing today.

Luckily not in the 5er... Although I wish it were for the sake of my safety and nerves.

I see the skies changing now. Usually after heat waves the rain can be a nightmare. Ralf please check and let me know if I should get the blankets out

The weather started developing in the Potch area, I have been watching it, the current Irene300 range image shows the classic "DISSIPATING" shape of the storm cell, I call it a "Butterfly-shape", whereby individual cells have all merged into one big cell, inside the cell are still areas of heavier rain activity, but I dont see the definitive contours (like a fried egg) anymore

also the storm hasn't really made it onto the 75km Irene radar range as yet to get a more accurate view, thus it is still SW of Soweto, arrival in JHB in about an hour though

judging by what has appeared on the 75km radar scale, I can start to see patches of orange on the DbZ scale, indicative of heavier rain, and possibly...only possibly light pea sized hail
