Really wish I knew what this was telling me...

I'm sure this has been explained many times in this thread.

The things to look out for are those light blue lines that make up patches. Those are weather cells (probable rain). The red lines that form almost the same shape as the light blue lines is a prediction of where that weather cell is going to be in 30 minutes, giving you an indication of size growth and direction of movement. Inside these cells is shading ranging from blue to purple to yellow to red, in that order of severity. Red means probable hail.

Look near the centre of the image. See the letters JHB and PTA, most likely closest to you.

I don't see my street name on the map :fencelook:

Just kidding, thank you for the explanation as I was also going to sound stupid asking what it means :roflol:

Developing cell heading over what looks like Lanseria now, in an an almost south easterly direction. Northern suburbs/Midrand area can expect showers in the next half an hour.

The showers over Benoni and Bapsfontein now are heading south easterly as well.

Fairly large cell over Bapsfontein right now, moving north towards PTA East and Culinan. Looks a bit hectic. No hail yet.

Seen a mother of a lightning strike moments ago. Thunder came through a good few seconds after so still a few minutes away I reckon... This is in fourways

Any East London (Eastern Cape) fanatics here ?

If so, there is something nasty brewing inland to the NW of EastLOndon heading your way

Lightning by 14th avenue

Sent on the fly

some stuff brewing on the West Rand...moving due east towards the southern city and to the East Rand
still watching the images to see if it developes into a "hail-warning", just started appearing on the 75km scale, and shows it in the Yellow range, so just a "good-ole-thunderstorm"....will monitor to see if it developes with a red scale core or not
