Thanks, went to strijdom park and they were not helpful. So went to Honeydew and was impressed by the work and service.

one of the wife's friends just received an sms from budget insurance about a hail warning for today. I think Randburg region.

RAAAAALF :fencelook:

I will monitor the radar images and the twitter feed from the weather guru's

weather is too dynamic to make any "predictions", but as soon as something starts to brew, I will at least see its trend and then I can warn appropriately

at this stage there is some cloud activity running in a line from Welkom to Bethlehem, moving due easterly.

Judging by the upper air winds, anything that is going to affect Gauteng will start to develop out Vryberg/Mafikeng way, and at this stage no radar returns from that area

whats the latest update?

me thinks the insurance company SMS's were fear mongering

still only thunder activity in a diagonal line Welkom thru Bethlehem
nothing north of the Vaal River....so I cannot see anything major developing this afternoon..?

yet

Phew!
Thats a relief, i moved my car outside 3 times in the lot, to get a spot under shadecloth and the cover of a 4 story leaf laden tree for best possible chance of reducing damage if it does hail, but with my luck, what tends to happen is as soon as i leave the parking, a hail ball the size of lesotho will fall on my car, and will go into guiness world records for biggest hail ever.

Just curious...

I heard something about an insurance company not paying out for a hail damage claim as they sent out SMS's to notify their clients so that they could avoid the storm, and said client then didn't take measures to protect their car.

Tell me this cannot hold up in court? How do you know you're gonna hit a storm if you leave PTA en route to JHB for example?
