Or you have to be working for the SAWS or like flight contol at the airport?

So unless the wind decides to make a turn north, the ugly part will miss JHB Central /North (still a few dark loose clouds floating around that might bring rain). The south looks dark from here, lots of rain going to fall there.

at this stage that seems to be the trend
the one over Vereeniging/Meyerton will continue due east wards
another massive one out Parys way also tranding due eastwards

over time they will naturally start to move northeastelry though

Just had a staring contest with the clouds again. now starting to really look like its getting closer. The clouds to the south are now turning the scary dark blue colour.A few guys are already getting ready to go home to avoid another Gilloolies episode. wind is also picking up a bit

just from my observation over many years of watching the radar images and the progress

1) once the outline of the main storm starts to develope a "butterfly" wings outline, it is in dissipating phase, which generally means reduced violence W.R.T hail, but predominantly downpours ....sometime heavy downpours
2) When the storm image is still essentially round like a "fried-egg" it is at its most violent with respect to hail

ok JHB north just keep an eye to the south it's spreading out
20min +- and rain over Bedford/ gilloolies again judging by how it looks now.

I left office @ 2pm.. Made it to South of Jozi before anything major.. Been some heavy drops of rain since I arrived, but the sky's are blue/grey .. Hail?

After my 2013 Flood incident I am never ever taking a chance again. I fear floods, much much more than hail.

Looking south towards Alberton.. it's growing quite rapidly... drove N3 North to Edenvale and the edge of the clouds are already here..
