Tyre tread caused damage on N1

Was on my way back from my dad's funeral and struck a truck tyre tread that was lying on the N1 just outside Kroonstad. Wanted to break but the asshole in the Navara driving behind me was right on my ass. Luckily it's only cosmetic damage. Though the quote from autobahn is R20k. Seems crazy for a bit of paint. Well they quoting to replace both spot lights and kidney grills so maybe it makes sense I don't know. Not sure if the pic was attached properly. If not will try again.

Yeah so I got my car back yesterday. It's weird how material things cause us such emotional pain when they are just things. Before my dad passed I was always glad to say I didn't understand what that felt like. Well now that I know what it's like I can honestly say that real emotional pain is on a level that a damaged car cannot reach.

Sorry about your loss

I wrote a car off few years back because of debris on the highway, swerved to avoid it and steering locked, car rolled about 4 times.

Front two occupants wore seatbelts,my mum and I. Youngest brother in the back with no belt.

Everyone walked away with small nicks from the glass. Amazingly.

For you, that tyre debris could have killed you. This could have been worse and it wasn't.

Be thankful for that, you were not injured or anyone else.

Treasure your family and loved ones.
A car is just a car.

Btw,is that chili lane basement?

Yup, well spotted.

It's weird how loosing someone makes you apreciate life and other people so much more.
