I used one can of the rustoleum and did all 4 rims and tye grills. One can is R185 at builders and they have various colors.

Lekker that's not bad. Is it called "Plastidip" or something like that?

Rustoleum Plastidip bud, got a picture of a wheel on the can. Previously they used to only have blue, red, matt black and white but now theres a couple of different colors at builders

Looks good man, How long did the paint take to cure in this weather?

Thanks man, This paint doesnt take very long to dry before you can touch it or peel it off.

I should add that the close up pics i took looks looks shitty, wheels got dirty after i fitted them back.

Will try and go to builders this weekend. Hopefully they have the colour that I have been looking for

Quick fix update:

Since i bought the Bm, I found that the lighter socket didnt work. If i press the lighter in to heat up the lighter didnt click in or stay in so it did not warm up. I have to hold it down to get it slightly warm.

after reading up a bit, i found the fix. There are two pins that hold the lighter down and also acts as the 12v connection, Bending these two pins inward fixes the issue.

The lighter now stays down if pressed in and pops out when RED HOT.

Seems like over time the heat causes the pins to push away causing connection issues.

So another small issue resolved.

So been driving the 1er for around 1 year and 3 months...how time flies.

No serious updates, just been enjoying the car and have done a couple of long trips 300km etc managing around 17km/L which is awesome!

December 2018 saw me giving the car the normal Oil service and the engine is purring like a kitten.

Since i bought the car, i found that the front splits were shitty and after removing the drivers door panel to see why the speaker would sometimes not play, i found that the previous owner swopped out the OEM speakers to DIXON Bullet Tweaters

Similar to these:

The sound quality was shitty and distorting with no base, only treble. He had some capacitors fitter which i assume was to remove the bass.

I then bought Pioneer 250w and fitted them like below to the front doors.

Sound is way better than before, clarity is also much better.

I then cleaned the interior, washed the leather and conditioned them again and they now look ever newer than they previously looked.

Thats all folks

Bought 4inch after checking the OEM size on google but could have easily fitted 5inch. So might change them later and put these in the wifes car back doors.

It would seem the previous owner also removed/replaced the OEM tweeters in the pillar with cheap R99 ones. Only the right door had one and the left door had nothing.

The Bullet tweeters are too big to fit in the tweeter holes....magnets are actually bigger than the pioneers lol.

But these pioneers have lots of trebble so not really needing tweeters unless i do a sub again.

So havent posted here as not much has happened yet modding wise, just driving the car to work and back and loving the consumption.

One update:
Alternator was giving me issues causing the dash to bring up traction lights, needles would fall and come back up, tyre indicator ect. This has been happening since i got the car and never knew it was alternator.

Previously i cleaned the speed sensors and the issue seemed better until recently the car started giving me issues daily and on one day i almost didnt make it home as the car was cutting out and going crazy with the wipers switching on and the car missing ect.

Took the car in to the mech and they overhauled the complete alternator with original Valeo parts which if you want to know is pretty expensive. Since then the car is driving 100 times better, havent had any issues again so that is sorted.

I will be buying a brand new LUK Clutch kit and DMF flywheel and will be booking the car with Danny to have it replaced and hydraulic system flushed now in december once im on leave.

The plastidip is starting to come off after about a year so will be removing and respraying it again but this time a couple of coats or might keep the wheels silver again.

Some pics for the thread...
