So my A Pillars were in a bad shape and were lifting up in places, so i redid them using vinyl leather. Will let the pics do the talking.

Just need to spray the Airbag clips matt black.

Still need to do B and C pillars.

In the pictures after fitment, they were dirty and needed a wipe but all clean and looks great!

Bought some LaminX and want to do the headlights hopefully tomorrow.

The a-pillars usually get dirty and the fabric gets loose vecause the idiots at car washes wipe the dash and make contact with the a-pillars

Does the leather trim have the glue on the back already? Like vinyl?

Outcome looks pretty good I must say. :bravo:

You have had this for a bit now, how does it compare to the PGTi? day to day life etc
I miss the power of the polo but other than that the bmw is on a different level from handling, interior everything, love the bmw tbh.

Update:

Front right speakers where intermittently going on and off so i removed the door panel and found that the previous owner changed the speakers to shitty doxon 4" speakers and shitty fleamarket tweeters!

Fixed them for now but will buy some pioneer mids and tweeters month end

im also wondering

His previous Polo Gti was super hot, and the engine done up.

Also wondering if he still feels it was an upgrade, and if so what makes it better.

better build quality? better interior ergonomics?
more refined and quieter cabin and drive?

The BMW sends power to the correct set of wheels.

Like mentioned, i loved the polo for its looks and power but the bm is on another level. Nice and torquey and much lighter on juice!

So decided to remove the fan and boost pipe as well as intake to turbo pipe and give them all a good clean. Checked the turbo and there is no play on the shaft side to side or in and out. Forgot to take photo of the boost pipe after it was cleaned so took one from the top.

It seems the boost pipe did not sit flush so will see if there are any improvements.

Need to wash engine bay properly. DAF.

Intercooler also has some oil on the corner which is either a leak or its oil from the boost pipe. Once my jack is sorted, i will remove the cooler and check if it needs replacing or repair.

Oh well shes still driving, will get n quote from gabby to repair or will save up for a new turbo in the coming months.

As long as there is no shaft play it should be fine im sure, turbo doesnt smoke at all.

Yes play on a shaft is a no no, just like a turbo smoking.

But that compressor wheels has had something go threw it.
All that damage to the compressor wheel means that turbo is out of balance.

Might have something to do with your consumption being a little above average. Less efficient turbo, less power, worse fuel economy
