The other thing that needs to die is the 'first edition' and 'anniversary edition' nonsense

Surely nobody thinks these things are going to be investments.

-All the first gen AND first production run issues
-Limited colours
-Stupid spec
-A dumb plaque that is not even individually numbered (eg 1/500 or 1/1000 - this is NOT like the Schnitzer Z3 or CSL etc.)
-Parts that are available to everyone else that has a car in a good colour, past the first year and with nice options :roflol:

It doesn't even work for supercars anymore.

You can be 100% assured that there will be a hotter/more exclusive/better model available a year from now (if not sooner in the case of the M5 when the comp launched shortly after) - also anything to generate a clickbait headline... M4 is the ultimate... then M4 comp is the ultimate... no no its the M4 GTS that is the ultimate... oh no but there is a Championship edition and this will be the ultimate... but wait there is the M4 CS that is the ultimate - all the ultimate versions of a car that has become more common than Toyota Corollas in certain areas.

Don't support sales people lying about these things trading better or holding better value in order to justify buying one. Also because all these things are 'special editions' none of them are really special. If you like the proposition grab it, but don't expect it to be any kind of investment.

@graan13 so what do you think it is going to cost?

Less than R3.3M before options?

I must say I think it looks atrocious.

And for R4m I'd give it so wide a pass I might as well be on a different planet.

That's enough for a very well equipped porsche turbo and a nice simple family car as well... dumb.

It is an investment.

At that price it's an investment for the dealership you buy from.

@turbolew

I would hazzard a guess of around the R3 - R3.3 mark but not R4m. Even at R3m I think its ridiculously expensive considering the car in the USA is around $146k - at an exchange of 19 - 1 it would put it around R2.7m. Again its my opninion and estimate but its not something if I had an endless bank account I would buy at that price

I can't help but read the name in an Australian accent... "It's a BMW mate" :fencelook:

Besides the price, I think it's a fantastic looking thing on the outside. The inside has not grown on me as yet.

So the M8 Comp GC is coming in at R2.895M base price and M8 Comp Coupe is starting at R2.950M

Will be interested to see the options...

Considering the m340i model is a bar, this is not badly priced hahaha

Love it! But prefer the coupe. Glad to see they're pricing the rif-raf out of from being able to buy this car.

The Rif Raff will still get massive residuals and 96 month finance...
