My new (used) car - E46 M3

Congratulations and happy mileage!!

I remember my e46 M also did the same thing with the water temp. Busted thermostat. Just keep in mind that the M3 is actually calibrated more sensitively, unlike the stupid pegged state of the normal e46. They have a deadzone on the gauge where it will show halfway when it is @ 75 deg and will stay there until 98 deg iirc. The M3 shows a little more accurately so you can expect a little variance on the drive.

When you take the rear tyres off, check for uneven wear. That usually points to worn rear trailing arm bushes.

On Saturday, I put the M3 on the KAR dyno, just to see what she does in her current form, before I do anything. The numbers were: 181kw & 289nm, which seems pretty decent for a completely stock car indicating that it is indeed in good healthy condition (engine wise, at least). Will scan the sheet in the next day or two and put up - but at least I know that she is running well for a stock M3.

:bravo: Awesome Mo!!! Well done!!!

About the temp dropping, my car also does that with freeway driving - I think it's the increased airflow

so whats next on the cards for it Mo?

Some preventative maintenance first and proper detail. Need to change the belts on the car, along with possibly the pulleys - looks like this was not done. Once booked in will ask for a proper check up too and take it from there.

Knowing you ,she will be mint in no time, and the maintenance done. Then the mods can begin.

Congrats Mo, well done!

That is good power for a stocker, keen to see the R&D which will lead to MODS going into this car.
