Good day gentlemen. Last week i attended to a niggle on my E39.

The car was 'sagging' at the RHS rear. I changed the rear springs and shocks absorbers and the problem was solved. It really made a difference to the ride and handling.

Now problem is there was a noise from the front suspension and the drag links were found to be defective. I cant find them anywhere beside the agents.

Where can i purchase a good quality set? Any help and advise will be appreciated.

Thanks

If I remember correctly, I had to get drop links from the agents too. Don't settle for cheap knock offs unless they're a reputable brand if you find some somewhere else. Rather spend the extra and you know they will last another 100k km or more.

Wish I could help. Sorry man.

Only thing that comes to mind is that it is prohibitively expensive to fix - so perhaps you should rather sell her to me...

:fencelook::smilebounce:

Just kidding. Hope you come right man!

She is a beaut!

You in a long line for this car. So wait your turn :biglol::biglol:

Yes price is a factor but mainly the quality of the component. I know with the knowledge on the forum there are always better options.

In this case I have to go with the agents part.

There is Lemforder parts available on Ebay but it works out to the same as the agents so I rather just go with the agents option and a 3 day waiting period.

Man this car looks so good!

I still find this shape so good looking.
And the most beautiful door handles too (don't judge lol)

Engine bay Sunday. Decided to clean both my car engine bays today.

Took an hour per car. I used Meguire's Multipurpose cleaner followed by water using a spray bottle and then a wipe down.
To dress I used Meguires Natural Shine as that is the only thing I had. Sorry no before and after pictures. Just after pictures.

With a week down and 2 more to go, boredom has set in. I decided to fiddle around and clean the steering wheel since theres nothing else to do.

Sorry for only 'after' pictures

Good day Gents.

After feeling a bit of Fomo after the E39 postings led by @nirvash and @Benji I decided to use my car for the long weekend away recently
Sorry for the late post though.

Realizing that I have not used my car on the open road in a long time, a last minute family trip to Clarens from Durban popped up so I thought why not?
My 'miniature' me's are at an older age of understanding the do's and dont's, while in my cars so I made the best use of that situation :ROFLMAO:

The drive there was a great with not much traffic.

The driving experience was spirited for me but not so for my better half as I had to be constantly warned that 'they' are in the car.

I drove via the N5 then branched off via Phuthaditjhaba, pedal to metal straight onto Clarens.

The car did not skip a beat minus the odd suspension squeak that will have to be looked at.

Fuel consumption was where i was blown away, going up i had a fuel consumption of 9.5L/km

and on my return i achieved 9.1L/Km when i reached home, not bad for a thirsty V8 on a 910km round trip.

There were not many pictures that i managed to take beside one, where I decided to take in the scenery

Mini me always looking and reporting back to his mom of what i am doing :D

and then a mileage milestone.

After this fun trip,

A proper clean up was undertaken..............

Stay safe guys.

Cheers.

This has to be one of the cleanest E39 540s out there 👌

Good to see the car being used as intended, I still maintain there is little else that comes close to these on the open road

Where did you buy this car cover? I'm looking for an indoors dust cover but can only find the plastic waterproof types.
