Thanks guys

Gizmo you make a good point, perfect 20-20 vision in hindsight though. As a daily driver, and knowing just how cared for the car had been in its life, i still wish i had never sold my e46... i guess it was my first love....

The reality is that i do very little mileage, and in a bout of anti-materialism sold the e46. I have a habit of learning things the hard way. For me the e36 ///M re-kindled the fire :inlove:

What i love about the e36 ///M is its street-cred.. i get looks and offers all the time and although i hate to admit it the attention is great

To have both wasn't an option either as I have another weekend toy which takes up much time and $$$ !!

the following are the only interior pics i have... still need to take some decent ones...

what i can say is that the leather was pretty much grey it was so dirty.... applied some sunlight soap and a soft bristled brush and the result was amazing!

Don't have "after" pics for the front seats but will update in the coming days!

 thanks Heven

Nort I have replaced nothing cosmetically. Car had FSH with BMW and the only cosmetic work was replacing both the rear window rubbers.

Apparently with the wood grain the first place you pick up wear is the back end of the gear stick splits. Also the volume dial for the radio. Leather is also in good shape, was filthy when i bought it, but the only place where it's picked up wear is driver's right hand side bum support (for lack of a better description) where some dye has rubbed off. also the arm rest leather on the drivers side is loose-ish (you know how the charous drive leaning out the window smoking their gwaai ek se )

big respect to the guy i bought it from for keeping it original. swirl marks indicate excessive loving on the weekend at the carwash. when i say i bought it on gut feel, i was invited to his house and i must be honest it was also how neat his garden and house were that gave me a good feeling....

Mike Salt did pick up that the front right hand door has been resprayed by looking underneath the door handle - there is a black clip that is typically not taken out. also on the silver tire pressure sticker was some overspray, however no record of accident damage and all other indications is that it was just the door that was resprayed, and each window serial number matches, alignment is still true and colour difference is indeterminable. the windows have never even been tinted. Carpets need a very deep clean and i'd like to replace the front mats with new originals (if i can get).

there are some cosmetic bits of the car i'd like reworked (sprayed) over time as I'd like it to be in concourse condition one day. Will have to pay LZ a visit for that. there are some seriously sick santorini blue E36 ///M's on the net which provide much inspiration.

anyway all these plans but i'll have to post pictures to give perspective!

taking the ///M to get CVs done tomorrow morning.

Cheers

I'll be the first to say you should have sold the nissan and all the crap on the roof too and have kept the 330i. Then spend your time and money on the M @ the track instead of getting stuck in the mud and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes!!!

Yeah one day when I am big maybe I'll be able to do both!! Also wouldn't mind a few bikes, a boat, a jetski, and a garage large enough to keep all of it

Bit of useless information - You know you can get the RPM to display electronically on the climate control display??
If i remember correctly, you must press the "AUTO" and the rear window demister simoultaniously and then scroll through the menu with the fan + and -
