discussion BMW My Maintenance plans

Hi all. Long time!! Hope everyone is still having sheer driving pleasure!

Question. X3 G01 is out of MP. Has the massive sports brakes. I just paid R7k for PADS, no discs. And that's after discount.

They offer a maintenance plan for 47k, which includes oil, filters, brakes. My question is, is it worth it? The SA said you get four pads and two disc change (front and rear), which would make it worthwhile, but I can't find that in BMWs website - there it looks like just one service each for front and rear.

Anyone have any insight into this?

Was told the same by the SA at our local BWW here in Bloem. It's attractive but doesn't make sense for me since the mileage i cover warrants only 1 brake change in that 3 year period.

Hi

On your BMW online dashboard, you can see the quotes for all the plan options available to you. It also shows the prices for maintenance items alone (brakes, filters, etc).

The Ts and Cs of all the Plans are here:
Yeah, I did see that, the price is the same as what they quoted me. However what I'm querying is the discrepancy between what the SA told me and what it says on the dashboard. BMW is very unclear in its description. What they should say is "This plan entitles you to 3 oil, 1 fuel filter, 1 pollen filter, 2 brake pads, 2 discs".
Instead, all they say is "this plan covers oil, filters, brake pads".
See the problem? There's no way to decide if it's a really worth it.

Paid around R10k for front and rear Pads, rear disks and brake fluid flush. X5 G05 MSport Brakes. Out of MP, you get to do what you want with the car. IMHO, these extended plans are a waste. Save that R47k in a separate account and after 3 years you will have some extra cash to spoil your loved ones

I tend to agree with this.
Also these plans (besides for the Oil Plan) do not allow for elective oil changes (say, every 10,000km).
My car is off plan soon (7 year) and I decided to bite the bullet on maintenance costs in that come up.
