My 2001 540i6 Individual

It is so rare that you see the e39 M-techs, and here you are with a 540i manual m-tech, awesome car man, awesome car :drool: :dropjaw:

Hi Sankekur. Thanks. I do realize how fortunate I was running into this car as I had been stubbornly looking for a manual 540 for over 2 years and this was actually the first "face-lifted" manual 540 I have ever seen. I had looked at many auto's and had actually reached the point where I had given up trying, resigning myself to the fact that I was going to keep my 528i Manual (also a brilliant car) with over 290k on the clock and just keep her as mint as I could afford. That's how I ended up at the dealer where I saw this car...picking up parts for the 528. Pure luck! Also, the previous owner was a 63 year old chap and a heck of a nice guy which made the sale just that little bit less stressful.

I am glad that your persistence paid off for you in the end, you take good care of her, not that I think I need to tell you that

Once again bud, have to say dig your ride big time the colour combination is sweet. Just noticed you swapped out your style 66 wheels for the 32, do you prefer these over the 66?

Yea I gotta say, besides the fact that I looove the Style 32's, the 66's just seem to have less presence on this car...I dunno...I have seen them on other 5ers and they looked cool...Below are some pics of the day I went to test drive the car, still with the 66's. The previous owner actually just gave me the keys and said, "here, take her for the afternoon", so I drove her to my mech in Strand that day for a checkover. What do you guys think...32's or 66's?

Really tough choice they both look good on the car, for me the 66 just edges the 32 and also I think it is a touch more scarce. Ultimately it is your choice, you could also just keep both sets and rotate them when you feel the need. Win win and you have 2 pretty rare sets of wheels....

I would say go with (or at least keep) the style 32 wheels, but that is just my opinion.

What turbo box? E39 wheels only fit on E39s, as they have a different centre bore compared to other BMWs. I would love a set of 66's do you have a complete set of 5?

I like the 66's because they look like a mix between m-pars and e39 M5 mags.
