Thought I'd do an update since I haven't posted in about a month:
Suspension feels really really good. Nothing else really needed to be changed apart from the dampers. The cost to motorplan was astronomical... Like KW V3 setup is the budget solution if you need 4 dampers changed. I doubt the car will need another set in it's life.
The retrofit of the touchbox ECU (enabling the touch controller's full functionality) has been done with the help of the dealer. It is immediately detected on ISTA+ and was functional within 10 minutes. The part was cheap enough that it made sense to buy brand new from the dealer and I made my own harness very inexpensively I really wanted to get this working even though you never really use the functionality.
Reliability wise I had another tiny coolant leak on the turbocharger system which was coming from a rubber pipe and repaired in a day. Alignment was done at the same time as the tyres and seems to be wearing well.
Approx 1200km use on the pic below:
I consider the oil consumption to be good and as I mentioned before, since doing the breather pipes/valve I am only now (close to 10000km of use) close to requiring a top up.
Wheels are in need of a refurb at this point and have accumulated quite a few scratches and chips. Fortunately the colour is very forgiving. When the front tyres are due I will be either putting them up for sale as-is or repairing them and putting them in storage, going with 601M competition pack wheels.
Retrofitting tails is possibly on the agenda, but they look so similar to Pre-LCI I am not sure its worth the effort. Quite a few sets sitting on the shelves at scrap yards... however if I can pull off the surround view retrofit (the pieces are coming together slowly) I'd rather keep some money aside to complete that project if I decide to go with brand new parts.
The Gyeon One quartz coating continues to perform amazingly well. I have no regrets at all (ok, maybe not going for Gyeon Mohs right away) and it is a major step up from things I've tried before from a longevity perspective as well. Still feels like it was done yesterday.
I have subsequently cleaned and coated the leather with Gyeon Q2 Leather Shield which leaves what I consider to be a perfect like-factory finish. Pics are with flash and lighting. Reality is quite different
The itch for the M2 Comp Pack is there for something different and what I feel will be an exceptional car. When the configurator went live and I saw the price I have to say it really made me think... I actually submitted a finance app yesterday. However, if it happens the M5 will certainly be staying in my garage as well.
As much as I've tried to justify it thusfar, F90 pricing just doesn't work for me right now with the various moving parts in life in general, though one will no doubt be in my future.
