That a really fly looking car mate! I think you're temp sensor is failing cause I notice ur on board temp reading at -40 degr c.

Love your car Jeff  All it needs are 19" BMW style 359 :fencelook:

Thanks man!
Those rims are hot stuff, but I'm still drooling over her, stock.

Great car!

What do you reckon your 0 - 100 time is?
0 - 160?
QM?

I honestly have no idea yet.
Stock figures look like this though:

0-100: 5.1 secs
0-200: 16.9 secs
1/4 Mile: 13.1 secs.

According to this anyway
http://www.fastestlaps.com/cars/bmw_m5_e39.html

Still need to take her on a dyno and get proper figures, because she isn't stock.

Thanks dude!
Yeah, the external temp doesn't work. Quick fix though, it'll come right :=):

Moranor's right - get used to the power. Well done, I loved the car when you showed it to me at Killarney. The sound was awesome. Keep it waxed with Meguiars!

So I've finally had the time to upload a short video :)
Sorry about the average quality and shaky video... nothing professional but shows off the beastly cold start and my effort on diagnostics and OBD monitoring :)

I have had the opportunity to and the absolute pleasure of using this beast for a day or two for important client visits (Thanx Jeff) :praise:

I need to say a few things...

1: What a pleasure to drive such an amazing car. :ty:

2: The sound alone is enough to give you a semi.

3: Sports Mode =
Speed-Face-42720577993.jpeg

4: The manner in which you are able to dispatch almost anything on the road is a thought that stays in your mind; as An OPC, ST and a C32 AMG attempt to keep up with you and fail miserably.

5: The sheer amazement and crazy feeling that comes over you as you prove the 0-200 in 16.9 secs

The only problem with driving that car is having to give the keys back to Jeff after using it. Then the sadness that overwhelms you as you expect similar power from a 328i track car. NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!

Once again, what a car... Sheer driving pleasure.

Got some interesting news from the guys over at RGM this morning :) Finally got around to emailing them on what has actually all been done to the car.

It was in the shop in 2007 for the stage 1 conversion, which consists of:

  • RGM stainless steel performance exhaust system
  • Remapping of the engine electronics. Both ignition, timing and fuel
  • Performance BMC filters
  • Speed governor removed, allowing the M5 to reach the 300km/h+ mark

It also seems like a few other mods where planned at the time, including a super-charger, dual CAI and Vorsteiner rims. They attached the specs sheet on the mail, which you can download here

The expected gains from the stage 1 conversion is as follows:

Before:
294kw
500nm

After (calculated):
318kw
534nm

I guess we'll find out on the dyno day
