Another update, :hammerhead:

Seeing as though my top box is right above the passenger seat, nor do I ever intened to "lift" someone. I have removed the passenger foot pegs, now the tail looks nice and clean.

Riding home in the rain tonight I realized that, I might need to buy some handle bar covers, to keep the wind off my hands. :YesNo:

Last week Saturday, the bike went for it's 1000km service. I have now done just over 1750km with it. Now that the rpm limit is removed, the bike is a joy to ride. It allows me just enough to dart forward when I needed. No issues with the bike on the highway either, pulls fine and can easily overtake and maneuver through traffic.

On average I have cut down my fuel consumption by 2/3, bike gives 3.5/4l per 100km. Time spent community (including getting dressed to ride) - takes about 45min no matter what time I leave in the morning(30min saving @ 6:00am, 1 hour saving@ 6:20am) In the afternoon it takes about a hour to get home - 1 hour 15min saving. The bike is giving me exactly what I am looking for; fuel economy, time saving and an easy to learn with bike.

It also has me very preoccupied with optimizing it for easy commuting(mods :hammerhead:). The top box was very bouncy(top box over hangs the mounting point completely, so the weight had great leverage to bounce with). I made a spacer from aluminum tube and an old curtain rail(also aluminum) with is mounted(nuts and bolts) to the steel KTM bracket. Additional I used clamps to squeeze metal KTM bracket down on the passenger handlebars. The result is perfect, no more moving top box.

Another thing I added(only did one side today - still needs paint as well) is what's called a tool tube. Just some PVC pipe, glue, one hand/table vice bent bracket, one straight alu strip, some pop rivets and 2 clamps. This now houses the bike tools(std set), GPS and cellphone & GPS cables.

Also remounted the power supply and GPS holder to make them neater and tighter.

Washed the bike and car today, finally had some time to take pics of the two next to each other.

Also manged to finish of the tool tubes, still need to spray the rear caps orange. But that can wait till later.

BMW is all ready for the trackday tomorrow and the bike is clean for the commute next week .

The track was good fun as always. Midvaal is quite a rough track, and alot more technical than I thought. My driving style ,in an effort to keep with the faster BMW's that was there today, punished the tires and brakes. The tires progressively wore more as I started pushing harder. The pads are finished, gone gone. The car is now parked at Herman's house will get some pads and go collect/fix during the course of the week. (Thank you again Herman).

Must say it was a very enjoyable track day very chilled and no drama. Thanks to everyone that showed up.

Really think we should make a Midvaal track day an official thing.

Will upload some rubber pics & comp log data stuff, later

Those tires

I know, but it was fun. I really did not hold back, once I have 2/3 laps the of the session I can't stop my self from going for it

Also having an 3.0 z4 and e46 M as pace cars does not help.
