Trackday I am hooked, car ran awesome. No drama. Started slow and got progressively faster (the app for lap times failed, track addict) got me in the first session at 1:27:xxx.

But regardless of laptimes I had some epic fun and even managed to catch and over take a standard Toyota 86(best moments of the day was chasing that car down). An 80's Porsche rs and me had bit of "dice" but I rate I made him work for it. I braked into corner 1 because we where next to each other, and there was no point in trying to be brave.

What I take from this is, make sure your car is in good order, and go drive it. Don't worry about all the other shit people talk, wrong tires, wrong enige etc. etc. just go out there and have fun.

Thanks to Gareth(GA3M) for joining in the 46m was lekker bro, 13 March is the next track day can't wait.

It sure is a lot of fun.

Hope you had at least one seat eating moment:rollsmile:

2 big ones, 1 smaller one. In my first two sessions. Ass stepped out a little in corner 4. In corner 5 it stepped out a lot and on corner 8 it stepped out a lot as well. Stayed on track but got the heart rate going proper.

I don't know anything about it?

But I doubt because there is Zwartkops Supertrax the next day which I will be attending.

You see, I told you that you don't need a dedicated track car to have fun!:clapper:

I agree but a only having one car for work and fun, is a bit of gamble.

This will hopefully be remedied shortly :fencelook:

looks like you had a lot of fun,

great stuff:clapper:

i'm also very excited to attend some track days soon, my 330i's running well so keen to put it through its paces on the track, light just came on for brakes though so will have to do that first,

then time to sort out the e34 and have some fun with that,

"This will hopefully be remedied shortly Fencelook"

very interested to see what you mean about remedying that shortly:rollsmile:

im sure with all the suspension refreshing your car must have been so much fun on the track:clapper:

DO IT, fix the brakes and bring it.

I am not saying anything more in fear that it might not happen.

Difficult to say if the suspension made it more fun(no pre-suspension fix track time) but I can tell you that the car did feel good. Pics make it look like it rolled a lot more than what I felt like. :mmm:

WOW:praise::praise::praise::praise:awesome pic, i like a lot, like one of those gems you find on the net:clapper:

awesome, damn i want some pics like that of my car......
inspiring,

definitely keen to play with my e46 on the track, after driving my e34 makes me realise just what an amazing car and chassis the e46 is, really great fun

the e46 does roll a fair bit but like you mentioned it feels much less then what you visually see from the outside,

well done, pic saved to desktop:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::rollsmile:

Well, if you want to join, here's the info.

http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=71631

The entry fee for the first race will be R550, this if for the club licence and even entry fee. The subsequent events will cost R250 as the licence is already paid.

Any car can participate. It doesn't have to be a race car. Only rule is that you can not carry a passenger if you don't have a roll cage.

A helmet is required.

The dates are : 12 March, 14 May, 30 July and 24 September.

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/FB38bw8MAXP2

This is a fun and relaxed event, that will not damage your car and a great way to to test your car. Two cars run at a time, starting at different sides, and cross over without possibility of contact. Everything will be timed.

I had quick look at the thread, looks cool. Maybe next year :fencelook:.

I am a stick to the plan kind of a guy(which is good and bad). The plan was to do a track day each month as soon as the car is ready. So for now I will stick to this and if it happens again next year then I will better prepared and should be able to part take.

Good luck hope you enjoy it.
