this is why I dont like metal impeller pumps if the bearing fails the impeller will damage the block...

The one I have now is a metal version, will have to wait and see what happens. :fencelook:

Thanks for you help/advice lately, appreciate it. :clapper:

So I though I heard a "clunking sound" from the suspension but put of as paranoia. Then clunk is back and the force is strong with it. It can be heard going over bumps(slow or fast) and when I weave the car slalom style.

Searched around for a cause(on the car and on the net). Seeing that almost all the front suspension bits have been replaced only two options remain, the swaybar bushes(ordered, waiting on delivery) or it is the control arms.

I will replace both lets just hope that sorts it.

have you put the car on a lift and do a bit of shaking on the above mentioned parts....?

You have come this far.., maybe it might be better to replace the last two bits.., lol

Not on a lift but I was underneath it Sunday morning at 6:00am checking and feeling where I could. Noticed another small oil leak(no oil on the engine cover or sump guard. Probably coming from the tappet cover that I cracked, I know there is a bit of sweating happening there. I gave up on the search for the clunk after about an hour of looking around there. I had some plumbing work that needed attention as well (actual plumbing work :roflol:).

True, all need to buy extra is the control arms.

I replaced the lower control arms today/night. What a mission. The ball joints at the brake disc sides absolutely refused to let go. I removed the nuts and loosened everything, got the ball joints on the elbows out easy, by knocking them. On the first side I tried in pure frustration I ended up dismantling as much as I could in an attempt to give more room for hammer. I tried everything I could think of.

Eventually just used a chisel on the ball joint thread and just smacked it until it came lose. Second side just went straight for the chisel. Still took a hell of a beating to the the ball joint out.

End result the clunking noise is gone and the car feel completely different. The steering is more direct, the steering wheel feel more "weighted". When I had the old c arms out I thought I had made a mistake as the ball joints felt lose but there was nou up and down movement. Really these parts take alot more strain than I think we all realize.

Next up rear trialling arm bushes and new tie rod ends. Can't wait to feel wat the car will feel like once those and the swaybar bushes are replaced.

Hopefully I will have the car ready before the next track day at zwartkops, really want to a feel for I on the track and feel for the track

Thanks Sean, I am also very relieved. I am however more stunned at how much the new control arms has made the car feel. So much tighter.

well you have almost replaced the full suspension :)

It sort of was the plan. Check my old thread link

Almost there and there probably be some parts I won't change. As we discussed.

Will chat to you about tie rod ends, the rear bushes and some "special top secret parts".

I was driving this morning and there was clucking coming form the right rear. When rolling slowly it can be heard - rear bushes.

Also I was driving over a very uneven paved road and hear a load knock. Not sure if it came form the front or back. Heard once before on Sunday(day after install) when going over an speed hump, I might have been going to fast :hammerhead: . I will wait to see it the knock shows up again, I have not been able to replicate the sound.

Ga-3M, Gareth, had this awesome wheel lying around and decided it would look great in my car. So he gave it to me, I cannot thank you enough. It rate it looks epic and it feels better than what it look's. I had spare wheel which bought 2 years ago, transplanted the controls and airbag. Now the wheel and buttons are all basically new.

My window button, the actual lifter broke a while, Divio had a spare of which the electronics was cooked. He sponsored he the broken to mfix my lifter with. Thanks bro, appreciate it.

I also sorted the charger for my phone. So that the power cable runs inside the dash and pops out close to the vent holder.
