Update:

This weekend I tackled the valve seal gasket. In a moment of utter stupidity I damage my valve seal cover. Luckily I managed to fix it with some Q-bond as the damage was not to severe. Then I fixed the radiator fan as well one of the mounting clips broke off, use some Q-bond.

I also resprayed the air con vent and grills with plastidip and gave them a coat of the glossifier. Now they have nice satin shine to them.

Last weekend I cleaned the beading on the doors(and some smaller areas where there has been water build up over the years, e.g around the door handle and around the bumper areas) and this weekend I also sprayed the all the beading with black plastidip, as the beading was faded and looking pretty :yuck:.

OO and I sprayed the breast cancer valve caps as well black with some glossifier.

I will take some pics of all the work that has been done over the past few weeks and hopefully up load them next weekend.

Planning to do the control arm bushes next weekend.

Image Update(Please update title mods thanks)

Just some images of all the last bits and piece that I have either cleaned or sprayed or stuck some tape over(or redone some vinyl). I will try to do a few nice pics on the weekend after I have replaced the control arm bushes.

The pics at night of the black web like stuff on the car was the rosebush shadow from one of the other cars headlights. Look pretty cool!

Damn lots of time and love gone into this ride

 My sister gets home last weekend and says " what is wrong with you, it is Friday night and you are washing your car again!".

Currently I am just enjoying working on the e46, but there is still a lot of work to be done before I will be happy.

I did that mod in the very first week I got the car, however those bulbs I first fitted were never really that bright. Then the supplier I got them from got new stock of a newer "technology" and so I fitted these about 2 weeks ago. Made a major difference. It's so much brighter and makes the car fit in with the new-car crowd at night :)

It's a pricey mod though as there are so many bulbs in the E39 :roflol:

Around R39.00 per globe from Electromann.

In an E39 there are 20 bulbs...

Totals R780.00 :fencelook:

So I left out the reading lights and vanity lights :roflol:

Did you plastidip or spray all of the beadings?

The steam cleaner on the age old dirt is a good idea, i have been struggling with that kind of dirt on my BMW and Camry.

The steam cleaner works wonders, gets the stuff lose then you can just brush/wipe it off.

Plastidip, I have some peeling on one of the panels but that will be sorted soon. And Saturday I saw some fine over spray so I will have clean that of as well. I does not make huge difference but does make the beading nice and black again.

Hi all.

Managed to get my hands on CD front loader this weekend, DOPE-GP gave (yes for free) me his unit from his 318i that was written off after he had an accident.
LINK TO THREAD

I made a AUX cable last night and tried it out but to no avail. Unfortunately this radio is not the right type for an AUX cable but after some research I now know that you need to get BMW Business Radio CD53. LINK TO INFO

Other mods that I have done:

I bought and installed Sendhur's sound. I had to make bracket to raise the box, it was just a little bit too wide to fit in between the wheel arches on the inside of the boot. The brackets raise the box by 50mm and then it fits nice and neat. I am very happy with the bass, nice and clean but not too overwhelming LINK SALE THREAD.

I will take some quality shots later today and upload them.
