Cedar Isle or JSN

I'm situated about halfway between Cedar Isle and JSN Motors. Any opinions on who's the better dealer for maintenance/repairs. Need to make a booking for 1st week of Jan for the 330d.

Would also prefer to take it to the dealer that can drop me off and collect me from work without any hassles.

NB: Car is still under MP but I discovered a few drops of oil on my garage floor, so I wanna take it in during the first week of the new year. Will obviously keep checking oil levels until then.

Never brought my car's to either, I have heard some stories about JSN which are a bit heeby jeeby such as cars getting scratched etc then them pulling a blind eye, who is your usual dealership?

I guess Cedar Isle is newer so maybe it's better?

One thing about JSN is they have those old 325is Group N racecars on show on the floor .... pure porn that! Maybe thats a good enough reason to bring the D there!

The dropping off picking up should not be a hassle for any dealership, it's a service they offer or at least should offer free of charge, maybe when you call them to book just enquire but I wouldn't see any issues there.

Good luck!

I've heard more complaints about JSN too - but generally people complain more than they compliment.

In any case, I've just realised that the car went for a quality check at JSN (on Monday) and they did not pick up anything, so either they were a bunch of incompetent idiots or too much in a holiday mode to check the car properly (or they caused the issue in the first place) - either way, I've decided not to go back to them.

Looks like Cedar Isle it is, unless I hear some horror stories about them in which case I need to find another dealer altogether.

If you look on hellopeter cedar isle had some terrible feedback when they first opened. Looks like it improved now though. If JSN could not pick up on oil leak/sweat then I would not take it back there.

Hi Bud

Im far from impressed with Cedar Isle
I wont be using them again. Nor would i recommend them if somebody was buying a car

Upon arrival for my First service

* 30min to book in my car. 2 Service agents on duty
* told them to check my wheel alignment - not done
* asked to check my passenger side window for a serious rattle - Not Done
* As of now still no courtesy call to ask about the service - 3 weeks since i took my car

I bring my car to Lyndhurst, I know people there and I haven't found them to be bad and my 2nd preffered dealership is Northcliff Auto.

Generally I don't mind travelling far to a good, decent dealership as I believe you shouldn't skimp on a car service just because it's near to you or convenient, for a quick bulb change, sure but a full service. No ways.

It's like if you need to go to doctor or hospital you would go to the best in town right? Not the local quack down the road because he's nearer.

I guess that makes sense. I used to take my other (ex) cars to Lyndhurst (when it was under MP). Besides waiting for the car (which I didn't mind) they always did the job properly, so I'll probably use them

JSN - Asked them to check the front passenger window (twice) as it made a scraping/scratching noise; came back greased up both times (yes the window) :biglol:

Cedar Isle fixed it first time. Great service and no hassles so far. My car is there as we speak.

I have used Cedar Isle for all the repairs and only have good feedback. Book in was quick and easy, drop of and collection service was good as well.

I have had some experience with JSN Motors, can't say they where pleasant, strange thing was that the car always needed to go back for minor repairs, central locking failed the one day as I was driving home after picking the car up, so just wondering....had good experience with Sandton Auto, they have the Mclaren dealership next door, quiet sure that is rated hardcore porn when compared to the 325is on show at the other dealer.
