Been craving one since my previous M3 got jacked... but yeah, the runs with Jezebel didn't help.

Mine also had wood trim. Carbon Fibre replaced it. But I still have the wooded door panels. Need to bring in some replacements. Burgy can do it for us. We should do a group buy.

Enjoy her. If you want any advice on things to look out for a 12/13 year old e46 ///M3, let me know. The things I have been through with my M3 over the last year have taught me so much. I'd be happy to share any knowledge. :thumbs:

Update time!

I've changed out the garish wood dash and gear surround trim for the more subdued gray trim from the M3 I stripped, and also fitted the weighted stubby knob from the 330i M-sport. The shorter lever means that you really have to shift the M3's box with intention, but when you're pushing on, it's an absolute joy.

Now just to do the door handles and the handbrake lever.

I've never been a big fan of the stock E46 M3 rims - even the 19's which I initially liked the look of, have been overdone now..

So the 330i got robbed of its shoes (you can see it sulking in the background under the palm tree)

The M3 hasn't quite settled on the new rims in the pics, but I was losing light, so wanted to snap a few anyways, despite the 4x4'ish stance.





And lastly, while we're at it, I've been testing out the prototype Project Shift Racing airbox this week, and all I can say is WOW...

I'm thoroughly impressed, performance and noise wise, this seems to be a winner. My name's definitely down on the list for one of these production units.

Wow that sounds SICK! The wheels look great too. The 330i's wheels are also nice, Wouldn't change them either. A good set of cars you have there :thumbs:

ndobo - the 330i's been returning an average of 8.9L / 100km over the last 10 000 km on my commute to work and back, so I really can't complain about its fuel economy.

Would be curious to know what consumption the M3 would be for the same trip, driven in a similar manner.

My M3 is getting almost the same consumption as my (ex) E46 330i auto on the daily commute.

A tip for when you do the door handles: buy some extra white plastic connectors beforehand, as you sometimes break a few when taking the door cards on/off or discover some missing. They are a few rands only, but handy to have them available when you do the job.

Ta for the tip MSM - but luckily I had some clips handy from the M3 I'd stripped, so all went down without a hitch.

Oh, and as a matter of interest - the M3 got 10.9 on the same trip - but I don't quite think it's the same manner of driving... that intake just sounds too good not to give it beans every now and then. :rollsmile:

Update time... spannered my tail off on Saturday to swop trim panels between my M3 and a mate's cabrio... Yes, he wanted the wood trim - some weird nature fetish or something.

So the result is titanium shadow trim, throughout, with no hint of wood anywhere up front. Nice and somber, and the wife reckons I now drive the M3, as opposed to captaining an old man's boat.

So we've gone from this:

Oh, and the car's settled in on the wheels nicely now... now just to fit spacers in the rear:
