It is not a meetup to drive to a specific event so time isn't too much of an issue.

I think what Chris is trying to say is that your event is too close to an official event, which will lead to poor attendance which has happened before, with people complaining that events are too close to each other and so they cannot afford the time or money to attend both...

I agree and those are valid reasons.
I've just been told of a funeral we have to attend on Saturday. Now I also can't go anymore.

Another reason why we havent posted our event yet is as Ebrahim noted there is another event close by -

A run of this nature involves taking most of the day off from family or taking them along and filling up a tank of petrol.

We encourage all members to be as eager as possible to attend as many events as they can and welcome any ideas and participation.

We do however wish to refer your attention to the thread "Events Feedback Thread" where it was specifically requested to give feedback on events and decided that we will only for the time being do certain events to gauge interest.

If you feel that there is an interest in having more regular events kindly post in the above thread or why not just get in contact with one of the designated Events Coordinators and inquire with them.
