This car was so busy being a daily that even i forgot to update this thread. I still love the space and versatility that the touran offers. My kids enjoy the extra space and I dont have to worry about damage and scuffs.

I was getting intermittent errors and the CEL would come on and disappear, reading the error codes pointed to the Intake Flap Motor. My reading on this part is that it affects emissions at low revs and shuts off air to the engine when the engine shuts off. So after a few months of living with the error, which never affect the driveability of the vehicle( in my opinion) i decided to take it apart to see what the issue was, as i was assured by the mechanic of the previous owner that the motor was infact working.

Took it apart and I thought i broke the plug on the unit. Only to find out that the plug was glued into place and was broken previously. The glue job was kak and was causing intermittent connection issues

So i had a choice to either try to repair the plug on a what could be a perfectly good IFM or risk going through all the effort and it actually is faulty... I chose to buy a new one.

OEM is made by Pierburg and managed to source a pierburg one form Goldwagen

The unit itself was also quite sooted up and was also the reason i wanted to replace it

All in all wasnt too bad, VW wanted around R6500 for just the part and I got from goldwagen at R3500, and took a couple of hours of my time.
