I was recently contacted by Kev, the owner of a stunning BMW E92 M3, for its annual service. He had already purchased a few quality components ahead of time, including a new OEM BMW oil filter kit, a new Drain plug, a bottle of Liqui Moly Ceratec and 1 Liter of GT1 10w60, and requested we supply the remaining Liqui Moly Synthoil Race Tech GT1 10W60 as well as a can of Liqui Moly Injector Cleaner.
Once the oil arrived, Kev dropped off the car and we got to work.

Once the oil arrived, Kev dropped off the car and we got to work.
🔧 Service Procedure
- Fitted protective covers to the steering wheel and driver’s seat
- Moved the vehicle onto the lift and began the service
- Drained the engine oil from both sump plugs, allowing a full drain until no oil remained
- While the oil was draining, we gave the undercarriage a full inspection checking the Tyres, Brakes, Suspension, Drivetrain, Exhaust, Differential. Etc
- Replaced copper crush washers and refitted the sump plugs
- Cleaned the drain plug area to avoid any residual mess
- Lowered the car and removed the old oil filter, checking it for any metal particles or glitter – none were found
- Extracted remaining oil from the oil filter housing, thoroughly cleaned the housing and cap
- Installed the new OEM filter, pre-filled the housing with fresh oil, and torqued the cap to 25Nm
🛢️ Fluids & Additives
- Added Liqui Moly Ceratec for added wear protection
- Filled up with Liqui Moly GT1 10W60, one of the best oils available for the high-revving S65 V8
🧼 Airbox & Engine Bay
- Removed the BMC performance air filter, cleaned it with compressed air to remove debris
- Cleaned the airbox interior before reinstalling the filter and lid
- Gave the engine bay a light detail, wiping down plastics and trim with a rejuvenating plastic dressing for a clean, OEM+ finish
💻 Diagnostics & CBS Reset
- Removed the car from the lift and connected our diagnostic tool
- Accessed the CBS system to reset the engine oil service interval
- Ran a full system scan and found stored fault codes
- Saved a full pre-service diagnostic report, cleared all codes, and verified that they cleared successfully (all historic faults)
- Sent both the before/after diagnostic reports and all progress photos to Kev for his records
✅ Final Checks
- Topped up the Windscreen washer bottle with Motul Vision Expert Ultra
- Confirmed oil level was spot on
- Performed a final visual check of the engine bay
- Put the remaining engine oil bottle in a plastic bag and left it in the vehicle to be used in the next service.
- Kev was extremely happy with the care, transparency, and attention to detail his M3 received — and we were honoured to work on such an iconic M car.
