A while back some of the boys went out to The Rock Raceway. And both members of the RK motion Familia decided to go head to head....

730d aint no Slouch from the Line...But the 330d got some Caster Semenya Legs

That 730d is damn impressive, didn't think it would get off the line so quick! :clapper:

For a 730d to launch itself and all its weight like that is something proper.

Keithan, what is the output of that car at the moment and what Nm rating does the box have if you know? I can't help but wonder how the car will hold up with this improvement in power in the long run. It's a massive improvement in acceleration.

The Box will hold and last with our tune - as with the 330d's - torque is limited on the lower gears - safe guarding the box.

Car currently makes :
203.2 wkw & 698Nm without Meth
218.7wkw & 756Nm With Meth.

This is still a tune way below the limits, Alex Drives to Capetown occasionally and uses the vehicle everyday. Will be going for more soon as the Bug has Bitten...

It is really difficult to explain the difference in drive, Majority of the BMW's we have remapped are from other tuners and they swear by the drive with a RK remap. It is a more linear pull, not aggressive in any way... You should have came to the meet & greet

Love the way my smoke hangs down the strip :tiptoe:

Guess this is the way clouds are made......

Did he catch you on the brake boost?

honestly i don't want to take the spot light away from Alex as his car has a killer launch and is super smooth and powerful off the line. The finish line was literally less than half a car gap would have made quite a cool photo finish moment.
Alex's car is insane for such a heavy body (AKA the BOAT) and still dishes out hidings.
i have not been able to break boost due to a slightly "used" rear set of takkies and i am running 17's vs his 19's. Getting used to him clapping me from behind about my procrastination to get 19's but will have to at some point i guess:roflol:

Attached a picture prior to going through to the rock off my left rear :skit:

A better example of when i actually get traction off the line.

Car's are running well!!:praise:

Bud 19's aren't going to make a massive difference, I had 17's on my 330d back in the day when the e90 330d's first started making their presence felt with mods and the like, and used to brake boost the hell out of it on 17's and it put down the torque and power nicely(630NM on the wheels so not too far behind you gents). The rolling circumference due to the aspect ratio of the tyre makes 17" vs 19" similar, what you actually need in reality is wider new tyres at the rear to put the power and torque down!

I agree i believe a fresh set of tyre's will make the world of difference, currently i have 255-40-17 on the rear. the brake boost works like a charm around 1300-1500rpm its insane when you dump the brake. currently i am runnning around 232 wkw and 785 nm, luckily Rk offers the torque limiter set up in 1st - 3rd gear otherwise it would make for an amazing drift car :crazylaugh:

the hard part is sourcing decent tyres at a reasonable price in this size.

When are you guys investing in a GoPro to make some good quality promo video's?

These low quality "Potato Cam" video's are really not doing your work any justice.
