Thanks alot guys, Came out looking really good and im glad i stripped the calipers off and not just spray them while on the car. I did not want to have the pads sprayed and wanted the black pads to break the caliper blue.

Will be fixing the Washer bottle pump leak today as well.

Really looking for a set of wheels and slight drop and rear boot spoiler in near future but clutch is first priority after lockdown eventually ends.

Today i managed to remove and fix the Window washer pump that was leaking like a peculator.

I first cleaned both pumps and the bottle and could not find the leak. Put the bottle back in after blood and some swearing and filled the bottle and it started dripping again. Removed the bottle again and saw that the front windscreen (Gray Pump) was leaking from a small split.

Fixed it up using some clear epoxy and no more leaking :bravo:

So since i got the BM, the flywheel was making the common rattling noise and then also the occasional Judder which got very bad after a little bit of Sandton traffic.

For the past 6 months after one morning, as i depressed the clutch it would make this GRRRRRR noise when the pedal is down on the floor and you could feel it on the pedal as if the thurst bearing was pressing against the pressure plate and this started to become worse and worse.

The previous clutch was replaced by BMW under warranty at around 60k on the clocks if memory serves me correct. The car is now on 198k on the clocks so not too bad and still had no slipping.

Anyways, The car was booked in at Yosh @ Darkartz Performance today and the clutch and DMF was replaced with a LUK kit.

You can see the rubbing marks on the pressure plate as well as the one spring that seems to have half unclipped and was probably what was causing the GRRRRR noise.

Im yet to fetch the car but Yosh took the car for a test drive and bed in the clutch and confirmed the car drives like it should again!

First time in almost 3 years of owninng the BM i will drive it with a clutch as it should be

UPDATE to follow after i fetched her at 2pm.

Ok so first off.......I didnt know a BMW's clutch is supposed to be THIS soft!:eek:

Feels like soft butter! WOW such a big difference.

So basically the old pressure plate collapsed, The arm was also pressing against the pressure plate, The middle part of the DMF is basically worn loose so yeah it was time.....!

The new clutch is both LUK DMF and Complete Clutch kit and it feels like im driving a brand new BMW! No jokes!

Big UPS to Yosh at Darkartz Performance in Jet Park, Would always recommend his shop as ive been using him on most of my cars for the past 11 years from SW upgrades, clutches, services ect.

If you don't mind telling us would be nice to know how much was the parts and labour. Remember when i got my Z4 the clutch was slipping so i had ZF replace it for me. Cost me about R13k all in. Dmf was R5k from Goldwagen, labour R3500 and the rest was the clutch which ZF supplied.

Yeah it came to around R13300 for New clutch kit and new DMF with labour and Darkartz Performance is MIWA and RMI approved so 12 month warranty ect on labour and parts ect.

Last year (FCK COVID) i could have bought the same clutch kit and DMF for around R8500 from GW, but now they are around R5500 each.
