Exactly the problem all the current M5 owners thought there would be... it is going to be even slower in the real world once you do a few runs as well. BMW does claim 'slower' official times, but they have done this for years. I've had my non comp on 3.1 on my mates Dragy... and plenty of magazines have tested sub-3s on the F90 comps with multiple 'ideal' runs. Sprint times aside, all the power in the world is not going to help with that sort of weight. F90 was lighter than the F10 with material choices, but there is no escaping the weight of a hybrid drivetrain.

The F90 is already 'numb' enough that you NEED the extra noise and suspension to make it fun enough to swap from the F10 (I was in this boat for a good 2 years). The G90 is going to be a hard sell at past R3M.

As for not having a 'comp', they already didn't really have a comp :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:. They just had one model from the LCI and it happened to carry that badge because someone wanted to say 'they had the comp'. If anything, releasing the comp together with the base car the last generation (of all of them) was very odd. When everything is special nothing is special... it allows them to come later with something that is significantly different too (like a CS/GTS/DTM etc). It would have surprised me if they kept the current comp naming where it is actually not a special car at all vs what the 'base' was and neither is it as different as competitions were in the past. There was BARELY any difference in the prior gen and you still had to pay extra for the actual M performance suspension and exhaust that the comp SHOULD have had. With the F10 there were more hardware changes.

Also I can't stand this guy. His delivery and attitude suck more and more every video I watch but I had to watch it cos it was the G90 :ROFLMAO:.

I DO like the front of this car. Looks like an E60 evolution the same way the F10 reminded me of an E39 evolution (and F90 an evolution of that). I just don't think it looks very 'athletic' with the bulk of the rest of it and especially the downward slope of the rear which is at odds with every single prior M5. When you see a 5er on the road it is actually more pronounced than pics - squatting dog look... Interior can suck donkey balls as with all modern cars. I would miss absolutely nothing vs. my F90 on the interior front.

Multi-monitor spreadsheet vibes and plenty of lighting to blind you at night and bankrupt you when it fails. Plenty of accountants and data scientists will probably love this.

The media are being their usual selves I see. Apparently you can't tell how fast they are on a racetrack (what they usually say about the road LMFAO)

It is GBP R110K which is about what a Carrera Cabrio currently costs in the UK. That car costs R2.8 here so some hope of it being less than R3M or just about around that I guess (Before options)?

On another note the C63 media coverage have revealed more influencers and 'journalists' that need to be avoided in future :ROFLMAO: Just mouthpieces of the ministries of truth, peace, love and plenty...

How do you justify a 550kg increase in weight over the outgoing F90.its a monolith..a monstrosity of sorts..a "Larry Allen Mega Yacht" on the road.

Look.. it maintained the V8..kudos to BMW for that..but this car is the equivalent of an Audi Q7 V12 TDI..and that thing was 2.6mt!!

Are these cars going to be "maintainable" once out of plan? The battery will definitely go at some point. Maybe someone will come up with a way to ditch the hybrid part? The electronics on the dash, etc is another story all together.

I have slightly mixed emotions as with all the new models coming out now, not only from BMW, other companies are also making changes that not everyone likes at the start. At the end of the day though the only option we have is to accept it as the new norm, much like clothing fashion or body trends.

Rewind a little bit and we had an exciting "car scene" to look forward to, not only focused on cars and that's the point I'm getting at.
We had loud and fast cars powered by liquid, the ladies wore low-cut pants with short tops and a slim body was considered as hot. Great car events had pimp my ride's crew come to SA as an example to showcase some of their "wow" modded cabbies like the Renualt5 with UK garage music blasting throughout the event. If a car was revved at this kinda event you knew it's something like a MK4 Supra blasting the hell outa the audience and it made brutal power. Fast and the Furious was a big topic and was the cause of me and my mates spinning the shit outa our little mk2 escort project car with it's kent motor.

Our norm now is beyond disappointing and everyone, everywhere you go is nothing more than sheep following the herd. Most 'faster' cars now need a charging station nearby to be able to deliver all the power all the time, ladies still wear short tops but with belly-covering pants and now have a run for the biggest a$$, if your car can't fire gunshots it's not considered as "modded", lord knows what self-harm music the kids are listening to these days and Fast and the Furious movies now are on the verge of introducing OB1 with a star trooper invasion. The list goes on and on.

The point I'm trying to make is that it's here and it's the new norm, everything you buy now is not something for you, it's focussed at what the sheep think of it when you use it. It might grow on us or it might not, but we're gonna be seeing it cause people need to keep up with the fag we all know by the name of "fashion".

For some of us though, this new age is nothing but a nightmare we gotta deal with, the plus side though is driving past, or meeting with some like-minded people on here every now and then, this is the only thing keeping us sane.

On the new M5 though :ROFLMAO:

Love the front look but the rest is all ok I guess.
I used to like seeing these big new screens and minified interiors, after driving passenger in one though I still like seeing it, must be the developer roots, but I don't wanna own it anymore.

Struggling to see what the point would be considering you could just buy an F90 in that case? (and be faster). No doubt the battery will be junk at some point. It has already happened with i8s.

Considering the level of integration it would probably be a nightmare to code everything out. I think the Porsche approach of having an electrical turbo is not a bad way to go...

It is the pendulum effect with everything... there is too little... then everyone pushes until it is in a sweet spot... then they continue pushing til it is 'too far'. When everyone realises that "shit it's gone too far" then things head backwards to the sweet spot again.

This is true whether it is lips and asses or screens and grilles.

Plenty of good pockets in the car community... but they are pockets and not the mainstream any longer. Tik Tok (and Tik) have taken over.

As a current f90 m5 owner this doesn’t appeal at all, if I’m spending 3 +bar, with the associated depreciation I’d rather look at a Ferrari f12 which would hold its value substantially better and be a mind blowing experience.

However I’ll hold on to my f90 and add a carrera with the change if I’m looking for more excitement
