Update!

There was a stain on the wrap which on was on the bootlid.

So that obviously required new vinyl being installed.

I had the entire car ceramic coated too make it easier to keep wrap clean.

Took this opportunity to document the advantages of ceramic coating!

I'll start with my usual request to please subscribe to my YouTube channel. Won't cost you a cent. With the number of forum members on here I really hope you can help me reaching my current goal of 1000 subscribers.

I really need to stop being so impatient with these changes.

But here we go, another cosmetic upgrade for the 335i.

Gloss black dual slat grills and an M Performance style diffuser with the f1 style brake (actually rain) light.

Plan on changing the wiring so it links to my rear fogs which will allow me to have it flashing when I want it to rather than it being a 4th brake light. But we'll get to that in a while.

As always, thanks to @FiRi@Rennzport for the parts and installation.

Starting off with a huge thank you to @deago.parts@abmbmw for hooking me up with the parts!

This being a 13 year old car, its bound to look a bit dated in certain aspects. The overall design still looks great, but we needed to add modern touches which we have been doing with the LED fogs, LED angel eyes and even the f1 style light on the diffuser!

But the boring pre LCi tail lights have been working on my nerves! The only option was retro fitting a set of LCi tail lights which we purchased from BMW Midrand.

It was a pretty easy DIY, all you need is a set of pliars, 10mm socket wrench and an 8mm deep socket wrench.

@Jeremy I realised that I may have given you incorrect info.

My car was plug and play with the adapter but I just remembered that @FiRi@Rennzport did some coding for me when we installed led angels and fogs.

If I remember correctly we did the necessary coding in anticipation of me fitting LCI tails.

@KPM3_30 I know you did the same upgrade but I can't find your thread. No idea why. Please chip in. Did you need coding even with the harness?

@YasserIsmail I upgraded from the pre-LCi to LCi tail lights using the same kit from ABM.

Coding is necessary to disable the cold bulb check as the software on the car is from before the LED technology was introduced. Everything will still work without coding due to the retrofit harness, but the iDrive will throw bulb errors and indicators will blink twice as fast..

Sorry to hear. Been there (with my E55 Merc). Not nice but once rebuilt, I had peace of mind and the car served me well. Good luck.
