Hey bud,

Shims - This is a common issue on most F series cars, you will hear a knocking noise going over bumps. The way to confirm shims is required is shaking the steering wheel from side to side while the car is switched off and listening for the same knocking noise coming from around where the steering shaft slips into the steering rack.

Engine mounts - There was a rattle coming from the engine bay when the car was in drive and foot on the brake... The dealership diagnosed this as worn engine mounts causing too much vibration so both were replaced.
