If memory serves, the e46 330i was the first BMW production (non-///M) car to reach 250KM/h.

E39 540i - governed to 250

There is a predecessor of this.....

e34 540i/6spd

Which topped put at 242km/h

I clocked 260 with my E90 330d "stock" whether it was "true clock speed" I don't know but went past the 250 normal governer, on the Coast though and not one car in sight on a long stretch!!

As I said before we drive these cars and mod them etc etc ..... for what, Germany a "thinking" country has the Autobahns so as if you spend large money for a high performance car you can actually use it in safety :cartel:

I have shared that before and almost got my teeth kicked in, I love speed and when I get the opportunity I put foot down. I have never thought... if only this car would be a bit faster because in my head when BMW/Merc/VW make these things, they are done already maybe a bit of cosmetic changes but that's about it. So why spend thousands on going faster??? anyway that is not a common thought.

what's the fine for no number plates?
I often see Sunday breakfast runs with sports cars and superbikes with no plates. Or even plates that aren't real. E.g. "911 GT3" or whatever.

Off topic but is there a proper document of this pic.
Once I as driving from Durban and got pulled over doing 140ish in a 120 zone. Cop lady pulled out a table similar to the one above and quoted me something ridiculous like R2500.

I think road fines are managed per province, I speak under correction because I have received two different fines for the same crime in North West and KwaZulu Natal and the KZN one was very very very expensive.

When they show you amounts on the side of the road, it means they want that amount for lunch.

Why is this newsworthy?

Because it's double the speed limit?

that's just a normal day
