Can a 330 go that fast ?

My old E36 328i does 220 easily but is limited by gearing as it can do more.

So if we assume it's an e90 330i i'm sure it can do it easily. Probably limited to 250km/h
Was being sarcastic. Lol

I think there is an F30 330 out. That should see 240 easily.

The F30 328i hits the speed limiter, so a 330i (328i's successor) will easily hit he limiter as well.

I was told a relative of mines F30 328i has shown a speedo reading of 260km/h. Was told..:skit:

To show that yes, there actually are cops on the road in the early hours, so that not everyone thinks they can speed at those times when they think no one is watching.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I may have put the 250kph theory to the test with a e46 330i.....:fencelook:

Makes two of us...:fencelook:

My wagon does it too.:tiptoe: Mexican highway.

Or even 258 on the GPS:fencelook:

If memory serves, the e46 330i was the first BMW production (non-///M) car to reach 250KM/h.

E39 540i - governed to 250

There is a predecessor of this.....

e34 540i/6spd

I clocked 260 with my E90 330d "stock" whether it was "true clock speed" I don't know but went past the 250 normal governer, on the Coast though and not one car in sight on a long stretch!!

As I said before we drive these cars and mod them etc etc ..... for what, Germany a "thinking" country has the Autobahns so as if you spend large money for a high performance car you can actually use it in safety :cartel:

Its not just the car and driver, you have to take into consideration the quality of other drivers and pedestrians into account. I know of at least 3 people who have had accidents because of idiotic pedestrians.

Why is this newsworthy?

Because it's double the speed limit?

that's just a normal day

what's the fine for no number plates?
I often see Sunday breakfast runs with sports cars and superbikes with no plates. Or even plates that aren't real. E.g. "911 GT3" or whatever.

Before any of those... Consider the quality of our roads. Imagine hitting a pothole on the highway at 250kph. And swerving to dodge one at that speed will be even more catastrophic.

Germany's Autobahn is made for those speeds.

I've done 230km/h in the F30 320i in MP, so I would believe that the 328/330i can do it effortlessly.
