Nick and the R35 have taken place in the annual hillclimb in Knysna before, as recently as last year's event, and suddenly our application for this year has been denied with no reason.

Politics...??

Yes. One of my mates posted a couple of weeks back that his R35 was denied as well. Can't let the Jaguars look slow I guess...

Don't get it - organisers complain about getting numbers and interest constantly, yet here are multiple folks being denied.

Edit: since jag are the organisers now:

My experience with Jag: http://corse.co.za/?p=118

That still doesn't capture just how arrogant and condescending their ENTIRE ORGANISATION is. They will never see me in a showroom again.

2 months after that post I was in my M5 and haven't looked back.

Jaguar SA are in the business of making themselves look really good in their own little minds. Criticism on social media, media, in-person at dealers, head office etc. is met with putting their fingers in their ears and singing 'la la la, I can't hear you and I don't care, I'm awesome because I'm Bad Jag' at the top of their lungs...

:roflol:

If you think our motoring press has much integrity bar a few individuals perhaps, then you are in for a nasty surprise. Guys won't even write bad reviews anymore in case the manufacturer stops advertising (or god forbid, excludes them from a tropical or alpine 'launch weekend').

Guys, should the OP maybe first try and find out why they were denied and then maybe post that so we can chirp in  for support.

OP, sorry to hear this but they need to supply you an answer as to why they declined your application. Otherwise rock up there and smoke them Jaguars :fencelook:

Sies man, now I am like you guys, OP hope you come right and they give you access, please dont stop trying, this event sounds great. Knysna cant be far from mosselbay can it.

Politics, business and favoritism.

A friend of mine has competed at 4x Knysna Hillclimb events in a row and on the 5th (2016) he was denied entry without any reason given. He had to dispute and write a letter to the organizers (through a 3rd party) justifying why he should be afforded an entry. Pretty shocking considering his support and high placement overall at previous events.

It seems the organizers would like to make more time to show off their products than allow a wider field to compete. I'm not necessarily against this, but there's only so much enjoyment one can derive seeing a stock Jag putter up a hill with some local celeb behind the wheel.

Mark my words: Jag are going to kill this event in a few years time when support from spectators dwindles...and it's going to be all their own doing.
