Looking awesome, nice work.

I would have also changed all that red a bit to much.

Must say the black really does make it look a lot better.

I drove it to work this morning :fencelook:

just waiting for the weather to clear, and then will start doing some maintenance items.

at the moment, the car is "complete", but we see how long that actually lasts.

just noticed today on my way to the office, than my sunroof blind is stuck in the roof :bangdesk: fark I hate sunroofs, EVERY bmw sunroof I have had has kakked out at some time :thumbdo:

Nice stuff here...
I have the chrome rings around my dials but I have it on my e36 3.2L which was a standard ne? if not mistaken.

I have done some DIYs too like:
Replace airduct/brake vent in front bumper
Fix the the temperature sensor and wires that attaches to the above
Cleaned out the spots wiring, contacts bit worn.
Replace above with HID kit
Replaced all all water and oil breather pipes (7 pipe all together) behind the engine
Replaced Suspension (Coilovers)
Replaced Gearbox and Diff oils
Tightened the Kidneys that kept coming loose
Clean MAF sensor

Things I want/need to do:
Fix climate control unit (this weekend)
Replacing the cover by the wiper/bottom of windscreen (not sure of the name) (this weekend)
Have a look at the map sensor
Gearbox mountings (must check it but im sure its on it way)
The gear boot and the light behind the dials top only(now that you did it but what is involved and how hard is it Karbal? I dont want to try the steering bearing lol)
Where can I find the center console i.e. the trim around the gear lever and buttons?
And I need gear knob my clips that holds onto the stick broke :nonono:

Hey a pic of my car with the rings, I love it!

Geeeeez i cant get over the workmanship on those seats :inlove:

I wonder if there's anyone in JHB that is as good as that. I would love to do this to my car :fencelook:

you can fix the gauge cluster lights without removing the steering wheel. you just need to pickup 3x 07119905358 from the dealer. remove the 2 torqx screws that hold the gauge in place. use a credit card to pull the gauge out. carefully unclip the 3 harnesses. replace the bulbs. reverse - http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects-90-Gauges/101-Projects-90-Gauges.htm

Where can I find the center console i.e. the trim around the gear lever and buttons?

you can get these most scrap places, all the manual 4doors are the same, I got mine from bruces.

And I need gear knob my clips that holds onto the stick broke :nonono:

Hi,when you changed the extended red leather to black did you get it recovered or did you just replace it with black Parts?I'm thinking about changing all my grey panels to black but I can't find any 2 door black Interiors so maybe I should just recover my original Panels.

the extended leather would be a bitch to recover.

mine was champagne, then a shit unmatched red "dye" job, then it was hit with elbow grease and acetone to remove the red, then wetsanded to restore it back to leather look and feel, and then dye/painted properly in black.

if yours is in good nick, I would recommend taking the time to prep and restore it, and then have it painted by someone who can do a good job. it will be much cheaper than getting black pieces (you are going to need an entire interior, excluding seats and top half of dashboard), and probably end up in better shape.

if you want to have it recovered, you are going to have to find someone who can do a VERY good job.
