So I made it one week into my "1 year away from BMW's"
This is how I ended up in a BMW 1 week after the E92 M3 left:
I have always wanted a BMW Z4 M Roadster (not a coupe), having owned all 4 other Z4's (2.5, 3.0, 2.5si and 3.0si) over the years, the Z4 is still one of the most fun BMW's I have driven and perfect for Cape Town (I have learnt to ignore the Hairdresser comments) Now twin that Z4 with the S54 and in my head that should be Heaven (and it is)
So basically last Wednesday morning, my mate and I were browsing gumtree (as you do) and we spotted the Z4M at R300k... It was with S4 Auto's! now I hate buying cars from dealers and I had only heard bad things about S4, thanks to Cart Blanche.
Just call said my mate and check if M/Plan is active, if its a 2009 thats at least 2 years of Plan he says.. So the seed was planted.. I called and asked them to send me the M/Plan history.
Accidentally they also sent me the previous owners details, including phone number.
So I gave him a call, to ask about the history, and be cheeky and ask how much he traded her in for.
He is a 64 year old ICU Doctor and has had the car from new, He was a batchelor until 2 years ago
raise:raise: but now his circumstance have changed and he bought a Mercedes Galandewagen from S4.
Then it turns out he didnt trade in the Z4, it was merely being sold on Consignment.
So to Cut a long Story Short, We agreed a figure that worked well for us both, and what started as a gumtree browse on a Wednesday morning, ended with me driving home in a Z4 M on Friday morning
She has 41000km on the clock and she is like new, even the tyres are only 3000km old.
I will put um some more pics once she has been detailed this weekend.
