Goodbye Vader, Welcome Vader 3.0

so no news is good news they say ;)
No real changes on either car, except for adding that universal rubber lip I got from Firi - loving it !
Will see how it wears and will then possibly use it to replace my Sabre's broken fibreglass one as well
Talking of the Sabre, been using her as a daily since mid-December, as I do every year, but from Monday Vader starts the grind again !
Yesterday was the Sabre's "birthday" - took delivery 14 years ago yesterday - still makes me smile stupidly on every drive :)

Some pics of the lip - hell of a difference !

So since the last time I logged on I see there has been 1380 new threads and 19360 new posts – and it’s actually more as I once logged in to check a PM - I’m not even going to bother
My side, crazy, new boss, new offices, new branding, you name it
Vader still going well, with a few small updates
First was the intercooler/boost pipe repair with Nikz :
http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=75802

Whilst busy with that I popped the fan resistor fuse and whilst looking for my aftermarket motorplan details I found that I had this paint/rim protection policy thing – took a try as was getting tired of the gloss black rims and they were badly in need of a refurb – after a bit of red tape and inconvenience, as well as the fact that their recommended place prefers OEM colours, I eventually settled on the colour of the M135 rims, with gloss black on the inside dish – unfortunately no decent pics of the car since, but here are some crappy cellphone pics :

Then at some point hit this :
20160530_125829_zpsgcli0bey.jpg

Spoiled her after her last service with some M slats, and a new carbon badge as the old one was faded – couldn’t decide for a long time on the M slats as not Sportspack, or more importantly an M car, but then I saw it on the car and I liked, and also realised most Taxi’s in the area have M stripes on their zola budd’s so why the hell not :

And the ski pass sub mod finally done thanks to Gerald & Thiren :

Will TRY to log in more often going forward, no promises though :(

Thanks to Mo & Shabz for doing a detail for me during December, happy with the results ! The next step will be paint correction in a couple of months hopefully.
Still want msport springs, and performance bootspoiler, but no rush, in time ....

Did a nice trip to Wild Coast during the holidays - total trip was like 1490km and the return consumption was 6.1l/100km. I wasn't exactly cruising + full load + heavy 19's + boost leak = me very happy !
I did 5.3l/100km to Umhlanga before one way, and this was 5.8l/100km when I reached Wild Coast, but this time I was driving a bit harder - seriously impressive in my books !
I've been back in Joburg since Saturday, and back at work, and i'm STILL driving on the same top up tank since Maritzburg !
:clapper:

Car looks tops bru. Black is one hot color, just hard to keep clean. :clapper:

Great consumption, makes me miss my 320d. Just did a road trip of 4210km, and averaged 11.4l/100km. (140-150km/h)

Went on leave earlier, before the date I was set to leave, so got bored at home. Irritated the wife just enough till she agreed we may leave earlier.

So took a detour to Cape Town via the Northern cape. Got to visit a lot of old friends and places I have not seen in years. Also drove out a lot, to the smaller towns outside cape town, for some sight seeing. Came back again via another route.

apologies for the late response, as you can see, have not logged in since early Jan due to work constraints
Thanks very much, got it from Firi and stuck it on myself, seems very durable as still on no issues

My side - no updates other than the 19's have been replaced with 18's - normal E90 M sport wheels, and my 20+ year old sub finally popped and was replaced, thanks again Thiroo for the assistance
