A little update. Still thoroughly enjoying the car.

Wanted to flush coolant, these cars certainly are not designed for an easy flush. Opted to drain the coolant reservoir 3x times and refill with OEM between driving periods. Must say the coolant does mix quite well and you can almost drain 5L which is quite a lot. The PH of the coolant in the car has risen back to above 8. This process maybe uses a bit more coolant than normal but labour wise its much easier. Will just do it again in 12 months time. I get that you will not drain residue in the bottom but the lower pipes does not sit right at the bottom of the radiator anyway.

Had a rear brake pad warning, checked them to still have lots of meat on and no need for change. Only changed the sensor and reset on ISTA and problem solved.

On a side note my Discovery has the same gearbox, ZF 8 HP. I ordered an oil change kit from ZF for only R4700, comes with new bolts, gasket, oils, pan and filter. Assume you can do the same for the BMW's. They DIY on the gearbox service is rather easy and straight forward. Only setback on the BMW would be the low ground clearance so a lift would make your life a lot easier.

I think it is time to remove EGR, DPF and stage 1.

On the EGR do I opt for software only or physical blank plates as well?

I do not want to remove the cats since I dont like the exhaust tone without them, will the removal of the DPF only cause the cats to clog up?
Nice update bud,

Do remove the EGR (or code it out), remove the DPF and fit a downpipe, and do the Stage 2 file. Your car and you will love it! Chat to @Xcede Performance . @husaindindar is loving his at the moment just recently completed at Xcede. Pushing great power number making the car a true jeckel and Hide character

As far as I know, there's no CATs on the diesel. It's just the DPF, unless im wrong?
What I have is just a downpipe.

Im loving the sounds and loving the tune...
Im sure you will also.
You're welcome to come give mine a drive and make your decision.

Jobs done. Had a conference in Sandton today so seemed like a good opportunity. Only opted for egr delete and tune. Will monitor afr and egt for interest sake and post some graphs.
