Hi guys. Any recommendations on tyres for a 320i M Sport? Currently have the continental conti sport contact 5 SSR all round and was wondering if anyone's compared these to the equivalent from Michelin/Goodyear/pirelli/bridgestone in terms of handling and road noise?

Hi user06

I have a Goodyear F1 Eagle Run flats on my F30, They decent need to replace X1 rear tire but the cost is around R3400 per tire.... might just change them over to Bridgestone RE050 run flats.

I used the Bridgestone RE050 run flats on my E90 and those where perfect minimal road noise and softer tire which was great with handling

was just about to ask about this also, I got X3 almost brand new Goodyear F1 eagle RFTs and if I can go with a good none RFT tire I would change in a heartbeat
I have the same on my rears- 245/35 18's.
They terrible. My next replacements will be non run flats for sure.

I'm thinking in the same lines as well, But the RFT saved me the other day when I had a nail in the tire. I was able to still drive the car to a garage and sort it out

Managed to put off changing the tyres as it surprisingly had some decent life left. Overall, quite impressed with the Conti SC 5 ssr.

Unfortunately now they seem to be in short supply. Currently R5150 each

Other options incl
Goodyear efficient grip or F1 asymmetrical 3. Both R3530.

Bridgestone Turanza R3500 each

Michelin PS4s R5750

All are runflats. Had a few encounters where the runflats saved me so it's worth the compromise.

Any recommendations? Much appreciated

Hi

Phone a couple of BMW dealers, I find them cheaper on tyre prices than most other shops.

Bridgestone RE050 get my vote, especially if you run different size tyres on front and rear. They wear evenly.

BUT, if I had the money I would go Michelin.

I replaced my rear tires Nov 2023 with the same Bridgestone Potenza's I bought the car with in 255/35/19. I really have zero complaints. Think I paid R4500 per tire on a special they ran at the time. Front ones will probably be due soon and will just go with the same as the rear tires still have plenty of life left

I called a few.. their prices are ok... but they quote them as excl VAT and excl fitment and balancing which is another 1k

Ok great to hear, they currently seem to have the Bridgestone Turanza on special hence they quoting that. I will ask specifically for the Potenza and compare prices

Update: got x4 of the Michelin PS4s and they definitely are the real deal. Significantly quiter than the Contis (albeit they were at the end of their life)

You have made the best decision. Michelins are such superior quality tyres. I had michelins on my e90 and they ran beautifully. My f30 came with potenzas but when its time to change i will also use michelin.
