The first thing I would do in this instance is log the car a few times, see what the fuel trims are doing and intake temps and timing. Then add some ethanol or NF ultra and log the car again, if the logs clean up then you know exactly what is going on. From there I would absolutely install methanol. I would also absolutely run methanol over ethanol purely based on the fact that we live in South Africa where ethanol isn’t freely available from the pumps. Also Ethanol gives you 30% less energy by default than normal fuel! So your mileage per tank will be irritatingly low! And that’s without boosting around town, just daily driving it! So your fuel bill is going to sky rocket! Methanol is used on demand which for me is a no brainier. Also its far cheaper than ethanol and you can blend it with water.
Also Methanol puts zero strain on your fuel pump, in fact when it starts spraying your fuel pump can sit back, have a pina colada and take a chill pill for a bit. Ethanol requires fuel pump upgrades. If you run it too often it fowls up your injectors with a brown gooey substance. And it’s annoying to always have to run around with jerry cans of ethanol and have to siphon the stuff into your tank to create blends. I did this for a long time eventually it gets old and annoying not to mention storing so much ethanol becomes a big annoyance!
Methanol lasts long if you have the right setup, if you floor the car all over it will go allot faster but you have control over it and you have a level sensor so you know when you’re running low. For me personally it’s far more convenient running methanol over ethanol.
