The torque on these cars are amazing, damn. Nice figures :bravo: If I must get 9l/100km I will smile from ear to ear hahaha. cant even get in 11s with either car. I average around 13l/100km but love the car still. What's next on the to do list?

Lol, that’s why I’m a big diesel fan. The 3.0d is a gem as it’s smooth, can be made strong and is light on fuel (especially on open road). The 6-pot petrol has that revvy nature and amazing sound that is intoxicating though.

Next is to possibly do N54 cooler and then a XHP stage 2 gearbox flash - that’s where I then draw the line. The gearbox flash eliminates the spoungey feeling of the torque converter and makes for a lot quicker and smoother shifts.

This isn’t a drag car and only modded to a point where it performs the way I feel it should, is reliable and is easy to drive normally.

So a couple of my biggest annoyances were next on the to do list on my car. These all had to do with the cosmetics of the car and included the following:
Stone chip on left mirror cap
Scratched diffuser
Scratch on left front of bumper

After going back and forth with a couple of ideas I ended up taking the car to @Kuvi@VPSRandburg to get it sorted.

They ended up repairing & respraying the entire front bumper, respraying both mirror caps and the diffuser.

All and all the outcome is exactly what I wanted and I am happy with the difference it made to my car’s appearance. Everything also seems to tie up better with the carbon spoiler..

Great job KUVI. I need to pay you a visit as well for some panel gaps I'm not happy with and a respray of the front bumper.

Update:

I finally managed to source a N54 intercooler from a fellow forum member after being on the lookout for quite some time. This is a mod for piece of mind more than anything else really.

Apparently the cooler is about 30% bigger and it was a straight forward DIY, so wasn’t a bad project for a Monday afternoon.

I obviously cleaned and thoroughly rinsed the N54 cooler properly before fitting. The overall condition of the cooler is pretty good with normal pit marks and the odd bent fin.

Before fitment I also purhased hot and cold side seals to ensure I don’t have any boost leaks etc.

The cleaned cooler:

As always a bit of a mission to get the car on the ramps without scratching anything...

The OEM cooler was removed by removing the belly pan, unclipping the hot and cold side boost pipes’
circlips and loosening a torx bolt on either side of the cooler. N54 cooler was installed and the belly pan etc. was replaced.

The N54 cooler no longer sits flush at the bottom of the radiator housing as it is taller than the stock cooler:

After fitting the cooler I took the car to Keithan for xHP stage 2 gearbox flash. It annoys me to no end that I didn’t do the gearbox flash sooner as it really made a major difference in how the car drives. S mode is phenomenal, but what I really wanted was smoother and better shifts in D mode as well as getting rid of the CVT feeling on pull off - stage 2 took care of all of this.

Wow, nice job Ferdi. Im impressed to see the size difference between the 2 inter-coolers. It will be nice to see the actual drop in temperature the upgraded cooler makes to the car. As for the gearbox flash, I know that CVT feeling you talking about. :smilebounce::thumbs:
